I decided to take my family for lunch at Rio Hotel. We sat upstairs, we were the only ones. They have brown curtains( offcourse that will camouflage well with dust and dirt). I wanted to have an uninterrupted view of outside so I decided to push the curtains aside since the food was taking too long. Let me tell you Maina, the kosokoso that came with that. Even the manager had to come to tell me it's against their policy. Policy my ass. The windows are tinted from outside. I just wanted a feeling of inside outside. Plus I was not inconveniencing anyone, we were alone. Their food was taking too long that is why I wanted to engage with the sorrounding. Long story short, the staff have an issue. The approach was pathetic. Problem solving skills zero. The food that came thereafter wasn't the signature meal I had gone for, it was mediocre to say the least. I suspect the chef left. I just wanted to leave the place. In the process, I paid twice via MPESA, evidence attached. The manager said they didn't have cash so I should start the reversal process, which I did.
Then today, SAFARICOM calls and tells me that the hotel said I was refunded CASH. I WAS SO SO PISSED OFF!!!!. I had to pass the frustrations to the safaricom girl. They eventually paid back. But that small action made me pen this frustration here!!! Such a disappointing lot. Good infrastucture, cheap untrained...

Read moreI definitely did not enjoy my experience at this hotel. The customer service was extremely slow and terrible. We asked the hostess to give us sometime to figure out what we wanted to order… she left and never came back, I literally had to go find her myself. I ordered for dawa (hot water mixed with lemon, honey and ginger) other than the waitress taking forever to get the order right, the ginger was pounded UNPEELED! the waitress made no apologies for this… I had to send the drink back! If you value good service at a hotel… I wouldn’t...
