The hotel is in Africa. It looks small from out side and right in middle where natives live. There is a gated area that security guards have to open. They let you in on e inside it's Soo nice. This is not a beach view but the rooms are especially clean and nice floors and it's just a pleasure inside. Nice view of the neighborhood. There are 6 in our group. Each of us found our room very nice. No one complained. If u want a nice warm shower,. Shower at night. It's better chance of getting a nice warm shower. Mornings u might not get that warm water u looking for. Please DNT be a spoiled American u are in Africa so some things might not be perfect. No bugs in our rooms , no dirty smells. Alott of sun light. Bar down stairs . I want there after every one went to bed had a couple of drinks. Bartender very very sweet. Inside there is where we ate breakfast, lunch. Very nice place . . All the staff are Soo polite and extremely nice. Never had a problem. It's not expensive at all. Would most def def def stay here again if I come. I don't suggest u walk around at night. We don't. I'm not saying it's any way dangerous , but no different than if you go to a city in the US, that you don't know. You just DNT walk around at night alone unless you know someone that is from there. Here are a few pictures I took and of the view from different windows. .

Melili Hotel is a lovely and convenient place to stay in South B. The ambience is calm, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are warm and helpful. The food is good, with a nice mix of local and continental options. It’s a great spot for a peaceful stay close to the city, offering good value for money and reliable service.

Mu husband and I stayed at Melili Hotel for two nights in August 2018 as a stopover during our trip. We payed about $95 per night (superior room), with breakfast included.||The hotel is fine. Clean and adequately furnished. A bit plain, but not dreary. We were checked in fairly quickly and we took ourselves to our room. The room was a good size, with a small desk and a basic shower room.||The bed furnishings were nice, but the mosquito net was pointless. It was like a net curtain on a rail around the bed, but the net didn't pull all the way to the edges so there was a massive gap at both sides with nothing we could do about it. Might as well not bother having it really. However, we didn't see any mosquitoes in our room or get bitten so it wasn't a problem.||WiFi was free and worked fine throughout hotel.||After looking at my booking again, I realised that perhaps we'd been put in the wrong room, because it didn't have the facilities that had been described as included in my booking confirmation. So the next morning we mentioned this to the reception staff and we had indeed been put in a standard room, although we'd booked superior (because at the time of booking apparently no standard rooms were available). It took a while of reading over various things for the reception staff to accept that something had gone wrong but in the end they did and they said they didn't have any superior rooms available. We said that was fine but we'd like a partial refund. This was quite confusing to them and they said to come back later to check again with them because they needed to phone a manager or something. ||In the end, they gave us the option of contacting the website through which we made the booking to get a refund (they couldn't do it themselves because we used a third party website) or us not getting a refund but instead us both having a free dinner in the hotel restaurant. This was a bit of a pants choice I thought. Elsewhere I would have expected to get the refund and free dinner as a sorry for being inconvenienced. But we took the dinner because we needed to eat anyway...||||Dinner was good. A la carte menu with a good range of choices. The food was tasty. I got a juice, which they called "cocktail juice" and it was delicious. Some combination of pineapple and watermelon perhaps.||Breakfast was a small buffet. There was toast, fruit, a few different cereals, and a bunch of hot things such as eggs, sausages, baked beans etc. With mango juice and coffee/tea.||||We were able to exchange some dollars for shillings at the reception desk, but the rate was bad for small amounts, as could be expected.||The noise in the corridors was a bit extreme sometimes, a lot of door slamming and crashing around. I don't know whether that was guests or staff. Only during the day though.||||Overall, I'd say this hotel was comfortable and good for a short stay outside of Nairobi city centre. Just check they've given you...

Pathetic service. Overly priced. We were a group of eight people, some from over seas including an 87 year old granny. We had heard good reviews about the place, its attraction being the robot service. Which by the way was very lousy and malfunctioned. It took them 55mins to prepare our order which was basic dishes off the menu. We had to remind them around 5 times to bring our order and all they kept telling is it will be ready in 5 Mins. Our old granny is on medication and needs to have timely meals or she gets acidity issues. Finally when the food arrived in bits, it was cold and the steaks were so very hard, sadly all the dishes had the same condiment sauce. The steaks were all over cooked and hard like a rock. By the time the last dish was served which was actually the first to be ordered, the rest had already completed their meal without having enjoyed it at all. We requested to talk to the owner and they called the manager for us. We were very unhappy with the service and explained our grievances to the manager. All he could say is sorry and gave a lousy excuse that they were having a function upstairs. That was no concern of ours. At the end when we received our bill, we had been charged for fries which we had not been served with. We told the server that we wouldn't pay for that item. They rectified the bill and didn't charge us for that. We would not recommend this restaurant to...
