Tembo Court Apartments — Hotel in Sabaki ward

Very dissappointed to say the least! I booked my reservation on the 3rd of August for the 22nd of August. When we arrived our reserved appartments had already been issued to someone else. Their was a leaking toilet in one of the appartments, when i reported the issue in the morning they questioned me saying it must have been my kids. The toilet in the 2nd appartment was blocked, when i informed them, one of the room attendants stated that " i have never had any issues with that toilet, it must have happened over night" Within 24 hrs we were already been asked to pay for our 3 day stay. Since my sister in law had a young one we hand washed the clothes and hang them on the line! Wow i felt like a criminal because the owner came lashing out and started having a go at one of the room attendants, talk about being degraded!! Her arguement was that we were spoiling her grass!!!!, the owner even went to an extent of asking the room attendants if she had shown us the rules and regulations of the appartments!!, she (the owner) completly ignored us and just went on complaining. If anyone intends to reserve this appartments make sure you save your correspondents since we were being charged at a higher rate than was already aggreed, also if your using your credit card you have to pay a fee of 3.5% On top of that depending on how many days your their for your expected to pay for your electricity, water and for the TV. Basically their's some hidden cost so pls make a point to ring and clarify. To be honest one would rather pay to go to a hotel instead of use this appartments, its just a waste of money and...

Old and insecure. It is not advisable to visit. In my extended stay, I witnessed 2 cars being vandalised and an attempted break-in. The temporary staff and agents can not be trusted. The place was reasonable some years back but now is old and shabby looking. The pool is beautiful to look at but is overchlorinated. There is no security or CCTV. Furthermore, the apartments are run down and poorly maintained. There are cockroaches everywhere. As I had an extended stay due to work, I was forced to buy my own furniture and cutlery and crockery as what existed was rusted and unusable. I had to buy new sheets and towels. People, don't let the pictures fool you. 99% of the apartments are very poorly maintained. Also, I have just recently learnt that many of the owners are operating a serviced apartment without a licence. 🤨. The road to Tembo is a pot holed dirt road. You will drive for around 10 minutes. Of late there are gangs of local motorcycle riders who are really thieves on two wheels who target road users to rob them of their cars or valuables. Tembo Court is an amazing serene destination if you are un Malindi...on whatever mission. However, its greatness crashes to a halt right there. BEWARE you are bound to be hit with HIDDEN charges like cleaning (the hotel do not provide housekeeping services, we were charged 500 bob everyday for cleaning. No toilet paper is provided and the towels were all dirty and stained. Electricity is also billed separate, be careful getting conned by caretakers as they charge you 3bob extra per unit.
