Four Points by Sheraton Kuwait — Hotel in Qibla

My second stay in this hotel and definitely not the last i booked two rooms semi connected a twin room and a queen room the twin room for my kids and the queen room for me and my wife two things got me not to give a five star rating to this review first is the smell of the twin room it smelled sewage from the toilet seems like the toilet not have been used for a bit of time but to be honest i did not inform the hotel i was too lazy and the kids stayed with me in my room the whole day the just slept late night the other things is that i was frequently smelling cigarettes smoke smell I don’t know from where but it was in and between the rooms and the corridor when i informed they immediately moved to see from where but they couldn’t find the source of the smell put in mind i was in a non smoking floor and the receptionist called again to check on me and told me to call again if I smell it again i did couple of time but again was too lazy to call back again all other things was perfect the pool was amazing the kids enjoyed it breakfast was good too lots of verities of food in smaller portions this hotel has amazing staff all through the hotel they always have a smile specially the pool area staff the swipe the floor every 10 minutes to insure the kids don’t slip the food is great we had lunch in the pool area we ordered a Cesar salad, margarita pizza, fries and club sandwich all was great and fresh. The hotel is wonderful and the room's view is overlooking Kuwait City. The lounge is quiet but limited in choices only drinks are available. The hotel's in room dining is perfect the selection of dishes and the quality of food is the highlight of our stay. The reception desk was very professional especially Faroug (chief concierge) and Samer (reception manager). However, the downside of our stay was housekeeping and the way our problem was dealt with. We ordered room service more than 12 plates were placed in the room's table. We finished eating and decided to leave the room. Before leaving, we called housekeeping at around 7 pm to arrange the room and to pass a message to dining to remove the plates. We came back to our room at around 1 am. To our surprise nothing was removed or arranged !!! We talked to the person in charge and he kindly stated you must've placed a do not disturb sign (which was not anywhere near the door) on the door and tried to further explain that they cannot remove anything if guests are not in the room !!! So if you leave the room, no one can clean it !! We had to stay in the lobby till 1:38 am because of the strong food odor till they graciously cleaned the room. Even last last night we encountered a problem with housekeeping but didn't want to overreact as they cleaned the room without replacing any used item so we had to call for towels and the super tiny...

A great Luxury Collection property! First of all, it appears that all rates include a shared airport transfer and breakfast. I contacted the hotel prior to my stay to arrange a pickup, and had somebody waiting for me outside of baggage claim with my name on a piece of paper. The ride from the airport in the hotel sedan was about 20 minutes. Upon check-in, I was greeted with a cold towel and drink. I was also upgraded to a junior suite as a Platinum.

The junior suite is actually more of a one bedroom suite. It has Hermes toiletries, an impressive fruit basket, dish of nuts and sweets, and also has a printer/fax/scanner, which came in handy.

The gym is large and well-equipped. Towels and bottled water is available. The breakfast buffet is solid. Has a good variety of Western and Middle Eastern dishes. Service was decent, although nobody bothered refilling my tea.

The concierge arranged to have a driver show me around town. I was quoted 5KD/hour. However, upon our return, I was quoted an extra 10KD due to going outside the city center. So you may want to clarify costs before you book.

As a plat, late check out was extended to 6pm. Anything later than that, you’ll need to pay for an extra night. All in all, this is an excellent property, and I’ll be staying here for sure...
