The Cathedral is remarkably located in a significant area because one gets there means one is in the posh City! Yippie doo! A little off the Gulf Road, the sweeping change of the traffic bound Road ( earlier it was just a small lane without traffic light) where The Cathedral is situated makes it a landmark. Of course, exactly opposite facing the Entrance of the Cathedral, a ross the street is the gigantic geometrically designed Sheikh Jaber Cultural Centre. The location around the Cathedral is a warm, welcoming, cool anytime visit types.. A main hub for one and all - be they locals, expats, rich, less privileged, domestic workers.. one must just experience on a Fridays and Sundays.. the mobs of people, friends walking, talking together, children, families ,the happiness of the lowly, their visit to the Cathedral and its surrounding, be it to window-shop, glance, admire, chill out is noteworthy. The Cathedral makes me happy and humble. There is this exclusive elderly lady sitting outside the Cathedral selling special flowers on a Fridays...she has become a known face for the regular faithfuls. Reminds one that goodness prevails. My all time absolute favorite joint is the Starbucks, located within a neat little villas retaining its glory of yesteryears traditional houses called 'Behebehani Villas' just in the backyard of the Cathedral adjacent to the Parking space. Now imagine, if one just feels to get out of their homes, offices, work areas etc and need to have peace of mind, serenity, introspection of one self and meditation then irrespective of any order one follows, they must pay a visit here. One can just sit for hours in the quiet of the Cathedral's premises or else outside just behind are a variety of Restaurants and Cafeś (Again Behebehani).. I must add here, the most fascinating place around this Cathedral takes on are the Bikers! its a sight to see on a weekends, cluster of young bikers! 🤟❤ Folks just go for it whenever time permits, even if it's weekdays.. You will thoroughly enjoy being there! Hashtag #stay happy#stay...

Read moreAttended the 9:15am mass today (Friday) for the very first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Had to register online and received a QR code to be scanned at the entrance. We arrived 15min earlier, gentleman at the gate barely looked at the code (nobody scanned it). They checked our temperature and directed us to a misting gantry. NO PROOF OF VACCINATION WAS REQUIRED AT ALL. Seats at the cathedral were all taken (“first come, first served”, we were told) so we had to go to a different hall to watch the mass shown on 2 screens. We had to exit the premises through the main gate and walk all the way to the back where our car was parked. That wasn’t fun at all under the scorching sun and 49°C! So the whole set up needs a little improvement, especially in regards to protecting the parish goers from the virus. Once again, NO PROOF OF VACCINATION WAS EVER REQUIRED. That being said, I’ll just keep on watching the mass LIVE on YouTube until things...
