Emir Guest House in Karakol — Hotel in Karakol City

One of the absolute best places we stayed in all of the “Stans!” We spent nearly a week here and were very happy with our stay. The rooms each have a private bathroom, were large and very clean and comfortable. The entire place is newly remodeled and very nice. The couple that run the guesthouse are lovely people. It is clear that they truly enjoy meeting travelers from around the world. They spoke English and were happy to teach us Kyrgyz as well as learn other languages. Every time we sat down to a meal, we were offered homemade jams, breads, butter and other tasty treats. They also arranged a day tour to some of the local sites at a fair price. Emir Guest house was a perfect experience for us. The heart of the house are the owners, they truly made us feel at home with their kindness, warmth, humour and calmness. We have been on the road for 8 months and they are easily the best hosts we have had. They were beyond accommodating - helping us book the Ala Kul trek and even driving us to the start point at a discounted rate. We were cooked a delicious breakfast which included home grown vegetables and even a delicious dinner (even though this isn’t a service they offer, they’re just that kind!). Probably the best hosts we ever had on our travels!! Very kind, helpful and generous people who welcomed us like we were their family and not guests. They gave us amazing food and offered us tea multiple times without that ever being included in the price we paid. Honestly felt sad leaving the property. The house is still being worked on but the rooms are very clean and spacious, having everything you need. The hosts also offer a laundry washing service for a small fee which is convenient for backpackers like us. Amazing...
