Location: nice and centrally located on the main road of Karakol. Easy to find because it's written outside in HUGE writing.
Room: Yurts were cold so we opted for a private room instead which came with an electric heater too! Beds were comfy with plenty of thick blankets p
Staff: Very friendly staff. Limited English but enough to get directions and arrange breakfast/laundry. After we left Turkestan Yurt Camp and arrived at ur next location, the staff were so kind as to inform us that we left some jewellery in our rom. They arranged for it to be transported from Karakol to Bishkek for 300 som.
Amenities: Breakfast is included and is delicious. An assortment of breads, cheese and jams. Also the option to have eggs or pancakes too, not to mention tea and coffee also. Laundry service was great too. No complaints.
The only drawback to this place is the fact they only have squat toilets! Although they are very clean...

Read moreI have been to Turkestan a few times and over all it's ok for what you pay for. The prices can range from 500 to 1000 som per person. The yurts are ok and the private rooms are ok. It's a good place to see other travelers and to put up your tent. ||||I would not recommend this Yurt camp / hostel.||||The two Russian office mangers knows the mountains very well and are nice guys, but the level of there English is not the best. They do not give out trekking info but you can take a guide from them. Make sure to shop around on price for a guide. ||||You can buy a map there and rent simple...
