Saymaluu — Restaurant in Karakol City

7/2025 It was even better than the previous time: food always excellent and the kind young staff with a fair English, more than enough to order. Only lamb shashlik was poor, better to avoid it.

9/2023 Great venue mostly attended by locals, they have dj and singer (he does it all!) on weekends (maybe also on other evenings). Music ends at 23.00. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the music. Food is very good, apart from the lamb that wasn't the best, also for the strange sauce they cooked it with. Service is friendly and quick, pity that their English is...

We enjoyed our dinner at Kafe Saymaluu. There were plenty of wait staff, who were attentive and friendly throughout. English menu is a big plus. Menu is over 20 pages!

Portions are super generous. I have been travelling in Central Asia for 2 weeks — this is the first meal where I *didn’t feel like the kebabs were too salty! Woohoo! Win for my mild Japanese palate. The Greek salad, soup (forgot the name sorry), and lagman were all good as well.

What an incredible surprise to find such a great restaurant in Karakol! Each dish is prepared with quality ingredients, presented beautifully, and tastes amazing. The fresh trout is particularly good. Great portions and great prices. Also has a wide selection of vegetarian options for those who don’t eat meat or are craving something more veggie-based. Whatever you order, you’ll get a taste of fine dining for very inexpensively. Would highly recommend dining here...
