Amber Apartments Hotel — Hotel in Liepaja

We had booked two flats - a studio flat and a deluxe flat. Both felt forgotten about and in need of love, care and attention. The flats weren't unclean, but they certainly hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. The doors and walls were covered in stains, there were holes in the walls where hooks would have been, and the countertops hadn't been wiped since at least the last guests had stayed. The cooking utensils hadn't been washed and were still covered in food and cooking oil. The cups and cutlery also needed a good wash before they could be used. The shower hadn't been cleaned for a while and there was quite a bit of grime around the rim. The shower head holder was also broken and wouldn't stay upright so the shower had to be held in hand. In both flats we were given x4 hand towels but no bigger towels, which was fine, just unusual, and there were no kitchen towels available either. The studio room only had skyline windows, which couldn't be opened fully, so the room was very hot despite having the windows open the whole time, as there were no blinds on the windows to keep the sun out either, just a bit of sheer drape hung from the ceiling right above the bed. That being said, the bed was comfortable, the pillows soft, and the pressure in the shower was good. The location is as central as it gets, which was great, and as we only stayed one night, we just got on with it, but the pictures online were definitely misleading and potentially a good few years old. Could be that the other flats are better, but from my experience I wouldn't choose to stay there again unless the property gets the attention it deserves. There is a lot of potential for the flats to be welcoming and comfortable, but it feels like the owners have made them and then forgotten all about them, just turning over guests and not putting much effort or care in maintaining...

The property is located in the very center of the city, a few hundred metres from a shopping centre, cafés and smaller shops in close proximity. The main sights are also in walking distance, the beach just in distance of about 1 kilometer. The guest house is located on a quiet pedestrian street. The rooms are clean, the bed is stable and comfortable enough, the kitchen corner is equipped with dishes, a couple of glasses and mugs, there is a water kettle and a toaster. The bathroom comes with an iron with an ironing board and a hairdryer. A TV with many satellite channels. Entrance door has the code, the guest has own keys of apartment, one can feel a sense of security, because the surroundings are calm. The former loft now studio rooms have roof windows sensitive to heavy rains (noise), which is understandable, but one needs to count with it when...

We stayed in this hotel during out bicycle tour in Baltics. The hotel is well located practically in the centre on the town. Hotel organized us flexibly a safe storage for our bikes. The room was spacious and clean. ||||I lost my wedding ring in the room and didn't notice that. The hotel contacted me afterwards as the cleaner has found the ring. Then the ring was sent to my home by a registered letter. The hotel didn't accept any compensation of that all. Really top service and...
