Vējš Cafe — Restaurant in Liepaja

Nice enough, but nothing too intriguing. Honestly the atmosphere was more alluring than the food taste. We agreed that eg. Pancakes 🥞 with cheese and ham stuffing had no actual flavour to the cheese or turkey ham, and limited from the other ingredients too. The salad on the side was fine, but we noticed brown edges and a slightly bitter flavor to some pieces, so it seemed to be a bit old leaves.

The bathroom needs a serious dusting off, as there were thick white/gray layers on all less used surfaces, and in general I'd recommend to remember to dust/clean all surfaces regularly, also in the restaurant on wall decor and plants.

This cafe really impressed us in every way — the atmosphere, service, drinks, and desserts. As soon as we arrived, we were discussing what to order and had decided on an Americano. Just as we were about to place our order, the waitress brought us an Americano right away, it was a lovely surprise, they really anticipate customers’ needs! The Americano was great and we also ordered a cacao which was also good. We noticed some delicious-looking desserts in the display, so decided to try a few and they were all really tasty. Additionally, the cafe offers a menu with full meals available to order which is very convenient. And I’d also like to mention the very cozy atmosphere in this cafe. The atmosphere of the cafe is wonderful- the decorations, small, but cozy space is exactly what you’d expect from a nice brunch spot. I’d love to leave a review on the food, except we never actually GOT ours. We had made a reservation for 10:00 a few days prior, but the reservation had been simply forgotten by the waitress and the cafe was packed. We sat outside in the wind and only after an hour were able to move inside. We got our drinks almost instantly, but the food was taking over an hour, so we looked for help, and were told it would take at least another hour because of some sort of food shortages.
