Hotel Kolumbs — Hotel in Liepaja

I have no idea why they mark themselves as a 4 star hotel. lets start with the entrance - there is a sign that the door does not open and you need to walk through yard. we did it with a heavy luggage but then turned out that the door was working - sign was for random bypassers - no comments...||room - I travel often for work and know quite well what to expect however - in the description was mentioned that the room contains patio and shower or bath. when we asked for room with bath, answer was that this type of rooms do not include bath - then why to advertise like that... patio we could not find as well... so they SCAM in the booking description... room was old, worn out, of course, the twin room we opted for was not prepared. they gave us a double room they coverted in a twin - light switches were right behind our heads and each time we were uncareful we turned on or off the lights :) ||room was worn out, old furniture, shower old and dirty, missing basic amenities like shower gel, conditioner, vanity set...||all feeling was like a soviet time lux...||below our room was open smoking place so all the smoke came into our room... no comments...||breakfast is story worth - disgusting coffee, selection very poor - why people pay 7€ for it... not even beans, bacon and scrambled eggs or pancakes. one sausages, single fried cold eggs, one salad, cheapest sausage, bread and cottage cheese. when people asked for pancakes - answer was that they have ended, you sleep too much and gotta eat what is served||we stayed in the place because it was marked as a 4 star hotel but it is a scam. we did find...

couple. we stayed for 3nights. room was not as clean, some dirt on the karpet, some plastic stuff from other guests, pillow linen was torn. they had one double bed and 1person "bed" which was some kind from army or field medicine type of beds. when we asked to clean a room after 2nights, they only prepared bed and took out trash but didnt even vacuum clean at all. in a bathroom was a little cold, like 22c and an extractor fan was very loud. breakfast was almost ok, meal in evening was fantastic though. but for a 4star hotel... is more like 2star hostel with private room. they only had 1sauna .so if you do noy reserve in advance 1moth before u are not getting it. even though they said sauna is reserved since 8 andwewanted at...

When we arrived the parking lot was almost full, but our car could just fit in. When we were checking in the lady was a bit short tempered. She told us nothing about the breakfast time and didn't inform us about the WiFi. When we asked her about the parking she told us we could also park next to the road. So the checking in experience wasn't that great. The room was very modern and nice. The WiFi (when we got the password) was fast enough. The breakfast was very good and the staff working there was really friendly. Also when we had some questions at the front desk (another employee was there) they were very helpful and friendly.
