Rija VEF Hotel with FREE parking — Hotel in Riga

Generally speaking the location of this hotel is OK. Free parking is a big plus but it will heavily now depend which side of the hotel you get your room. If it is street side then even with closed windows the noise of loud. If its towards the parking side, its quiet as a grave.

Room: Room itself (Confort Double or Twin room) was pretty decent for the price. Air conditioning did not work properly in the room so i had to have a window open (which was towards the street side) so at night time it was a rough sleep. Bathroom was decent aswell tho the bathroom tiles were not that clean.

Overall: You get what you paid for but the rooms definetly need some renovation

Breakfast: Very small selection but you get what you paid for. So for this hotel it was good. Queues were very long (does not matter what time you went there) so there was hardly any sitting area available.

Dinner: Restoraunt is open only on specific dates which i found out at the hotel, so can't comment much about that food. I did not find any info on their website about the restoraunt

Parking: There were parking spots available when i arrived but during other days parking was relatively full and some parked even on spots that were ment for bus. No complains...

Stayed in suite 3 nights, not that much a suite quality, but spacy and clean and comfortable. Though... that miniature TV on the wall made us question, why? Can you put any smaller TV in suite?||Hotel location is in the middle of large traffic jams so be aware that getting anywhere takes A LOT of time and your Bolt Food also can't catch you in time. ||The breakfast arrangement definitely did not meet the expectations. Very strict Covid restrictions - had to eat in our room - and breakfast quality was bad. Coffee was cold and in these small cups you can only take one to your room, so you have to run like 7 times up and down to get proper amount of morning coffee!||The hotel accommodated some sports team from Slovenia or smth who decided to PARTY all night so that nobody could sleep and the hotel DID NOT DO ANYTHING!! Just let the loud party go one all night until we said we'll call the police. Does that sound normal?||Overall - the hotel looks nice after renovation and the price is reasonable. Hopefully someday one can have a normal buffet breakfast every morning not only when there are too many people to serve..... what's the point of these restrictions anyway? Less Covid threat when more crowded dining...

Located far from the historic center of Riga. The breakfast was acceptable, but the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner. The only eating options were at a shopping center about a 20-minute walk away down some very seedy streets. You have to use a pedestrian underpass to cross the road. We were advised by a local to avoid this at night.||||The hotel itself is in bad repair. There’s lots of bare ductwork in the lobby. I thought that perhaps this was on purpose (industrial chic), but it’s so shabby and unsightly that the only conclusion you can come to is that they ran out of money to replace the hanging ceiling, so just left it. ||||On the top floor is a lounge all decked out in 70s velour. It would have been fun had someone cleaned it since then.||||We were there during a heatwave. When we turned on the a/c nothing came out.
