I've got absolutely no idea how the hotel got its rating. It's just downright bad compared to any other hotels I've stayed in the past 10 years.
Tap water - I tried to wash my hands after checking-in, the water that came out was BROWN. It's almost like the water you see in drains/sewers or Paris Olympics 2024. Just expect to be dirtier the more you wash I guess.
Heater - if you try to use the heater, it starts to make an insanely loud noise after about 10 mins. It's either a poor heater or poor water system that got put through to the heater. No idea but it's basically poor maintenance.
Soundproofing - absolutely non-existent. Like what many reviewers have said, there's not even any peace and quiet at all because you can hear noise and conversations from outside the door and through the walls in the neighbouring rooms. Just imagine what you could hear! But in my time there, it's just a ton of random noises in clicks and taps.
Aircon - really bad, didn't understand why an aircon in JB could be not cold. It took up to an hour to get to a cooler state after checking in and it did not ever get to 16 degrees even if it said so. It's probably like 24 degrees at the coolest.
Power points - two of the power points were faulty and there were only four. For one of them, you might be able to charge maybe, but you get the electricity crackling sound running in the background. Additional noise you didn't ask for. Might very well just die in your sleep without knowing why. The other faulty one simply can't be plugged in.
Refrigerator - when we entered, there is a half-drank drink left inside. Was there even housekeeping?!
Main door - door basically couldn't fully close without you using your body weight pushing against it. If you didn't check, you probably wouldn't know and indeed I left the door unlocked until I realised it.
Showerhead - constantly dripping water despite fully closed. When we entered, the floor was already wet and it constantly is because it's forever dripping.
Ventilation - no toilet ventilation vent. If you kept the door closed, you'll wake up to a stale toilet.
Bedroom slippers/lockers - most 3 star hotels at least provide bedroom or number lockers to store valuables. Expect none of those here.
0.5/5 - don't believe what you see on Google Maps or Agoda where they had 8.5 at the time of posting. Just about the only thing good about this place, is the free...
Read moreGreat. No complaints. Bed is comfy and firm. All that u need as a solo traveller. There is a Taco stall down the street for fantastic value and great tacos. Loco Bros or something.
King bed room with window. for less than 50SGD is pretty good value. quiet. Sound proofing could improve a bit better. Could here voices from the corridor. Good decor. Good bathroom ID. Just their Wifi network could be unstable at night.
I would recommend this place. Plenty of eateries along this road. I'd like to note, the front desk supervisor(?)/manager(?) was very understanding. I want to thank her for her assistance. Booked this place via AGODA, and I chose a "large bed instead of twin" and a room with Window. Did it using the Agoda App. Somehow it ended as a Standard room, no window. Good grief. Agoda, you gotta do better with the booking interface. Please state room details more clearer in the payment summary. Whatever it was, the front desk manager changed the room for me at no charge. I appreciate that very very much. I extended my stay to two nights happily. I gave 5 stars for service.
p.s. I want to state that the TV actually had decent number of channels and broadcast quality is HD! Thank you. Leverage hotel in Skudai was significantly poorer in terms of TV channels and the in SD. Urgh....
Read moreMy fiancé and I chose this place for its convenient location near our wedding shoot venue. While there were a few positive aspects to our stay, there were some challenges that we encountered.
We experienced a couple of power trips in our room, which seemed to be related to the heater. Although the staff kindly advised us to avoid using the hair dryer, it didn’t completely resolve the issue.
Additionally, we noticed some cleanliness concerns, particularly mould on the toilet bowl and sink. We’re sure this could be addressed with a little more attention to detail.
The walls were quite thin, which made it difficult to rest when noise from other rooms filtered through, such as an alarm that rang for a couple of hours. For light sleepers, it's also worth noting that there is daily prayer music played at around 5:50 AM.
Overall, we appreciated the location but feel there are a few areas that could be improved to enhance the experience for...
