Grand Medallion Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

Booked a room in this hotel because I wanted to experience the Stutong area.||||I arrived at the reception, and I was greeted by a budget-looked atmosphere. The staff wearing casual outfit, no uniform.||||I was given an access card for my room. Luckily it was not an old-fashioned key. So I was amazed.||||My room was quite small but with a window facing a roof of neighboring building. So my sight was blocked. ||||I decided to go out for some walkabout. I found out the area around the hotel are surrounded by Chinese restaurants and stores. I was stranded to find eatery that suites my requirement.||||So, if you wanna stay in this hotel, make sure you got your own transport as the public transport is so difficult here, unless you are willing to take a cab or Uber car.||||As my stay there was not included breakfast, then I need to go out in the morning to find food. Luckily, I got to check out too at the next morning.||||During the night, I can see a lot of guys coming to this hotel. Yet I can see too some sexy ladies go in and out of this hotel. So, I believe this hotel also serve some "extra service" (if you know what I mean).||||So because of that, I strongly suggest you avoid this hotel if you are looking for peace of mind kinda hotel. The most unpleasant incident that happen during our stay is during check out. |The check out time is 12 noon but they barred the access way before the check out time is due. |We were being locked out from the room at 11.40am. Even after we went to the reception to activate the access, we still can’t open our room door. Half an hour wasted at the dark alley, waiting for the maintenance personnel to trouble shoot on this access issue. |Staff can use their master card to open the room door but there’s totally no electricity available in the room after that. ||We booked this hotel for a 5 night stay due to walking distance to KPJ specialist hotel. ||Yes, there’s offer on the room rates in Dec. |Housekeeping is properly done as requested. |Staffs are really friendly and ready to help in all matters. These are the only plus point I can give.||The lighting along alley isn’t that bright.|Wifi, signal isn’t that strong.
