With each visit, the quality of both the food and service has noticeably declined.
To begin with, the rice served during my most recent visit had hard edges, indicating it was either leftover from the previous day or had been kept in the warmer for an extended period, hence compromising both texture and freshness.
I ordered the gado-gado, a dish traditionally accompanied by emping melinjo crackers. However, these were replaced with an inferior type of vegetable or fish cracker that lacked the authenticity of Indonesian cuisine. While substitutions can be acceptable (and sometimes necessary), it should have been communicated clearly when the order was taken or at least, explained at any point during the meal.
Furthermore, the chili condiment—previously a highlight with its robust, pasty consistency—has suffered a marked decline in quality. It is now thin and watery, lacking the depth of flavor that once came from a well-balanced blend of spices. The proportions appear to have been diluted with excess water, resulting in a bland and soupy texture . What added to the displeasure was the condition in which the chili was presented: served in a visibly unclean container that appeared not to have been properly washed for some time. To compound the issue, the container was nearly empty, yet no effort was made to refill it prior to service.
We also ordered two portions of perkedel (Indonesian potato croquettes), which totaled four pieces, and an additional fried chicken drumstick. All five items were crammed onto a small 10cm plate, stacking the perkedel on top of one another. It felt like they were cutting corners—perhaps to avoid washing another plate.
Staff members were dressed informally, resembling domestic helpers rather than restaurant personnel. Once their tasks were complete, they were observed congregating and smoking near the front gate, outside dining area - a highly unprofessional scene.
To add to the absurdity, during one of my previous visits, a staff member decided to move the owner's parked car into the port while we were dining. A home-based business it is so the customer seating is the carport. This thoughtless act filled the air with exhaust fumes, disrupting our meal and raising serious concerns about the staff’s judgment and regard for guest comfort. It was an untimely and unnecessary action, especially while diners were present. It was both inconsiderate and disruptive. What was he trying to prove? That he's not just a cook and server, but also a...
Read moreTried their Nasi Padang Special – the flavors were great overall! The chicken on the thigh can be a little dry sometimes and the flavors probably wasnt marinated longer but when it’s on the drumstick, it’s so much more flavorful (noticed this on my second visit). The beef rendang was the star for me – soft, rich, and super flavorful, definitely better than the chicken.
The Nasi Padang Gulai Sotong was okay, though the sotong could’ve been richer with the gulai lemak taste. The bakso sapi was decent but felt like it was missing something – I’ve had better elsewhere. The sambal was just nice, it wasnt too spicy which i prefer.
Drinks-wise, the kopi peng was mid, but the lime calamansi will hit the spot if you’re craving that classic calamansi taste (in a nice halal version).
Now, the Gado-Gado? Sooooo good! Definitely a must-try. The tempe goreng was divine too – perfectly crispy and not too strong in that usual tempe taste, which I personally loved.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our diner which makes this place really special. 🤍🤍✨✨
It was my first time trying out most of their menu, and overall, a good experience! Would love to come back here again in hope they could improve their menu because i can see the potential of this place and also maybe the...
Read moreThis is the saddest plate of nasi padang(photo attached) i have ever seen and tried. Doesn't taste authentic at all. Sambal ijo was undercooked and just bitter. Chicken so dry if i throw at a dog, dog will probably die. The petai ebi(the ebi nonexistent) doesn't taste like much. Ulam? Sayur? Pretty much nonexistent. Just a small portion of daun ubi. I ordered the martabak ayam as well, it was good but kinda oily. No photo of it bcs it kinda disappeared fast bcs i was hungry and not satisfied with the nasi Padang. The place itself is clean, but when i arrived a lot of the tables are still filled with previous diner's plates. And if the table is empty, it hasnt been wiped clean yet. Can see rice and gravy on the table attracting flies. Yuck. Sat for 10min before one staff finally approached to give me menu and clean the table.
