HUGE hotel! One can rollerblade from one end of the room corridor to the other. Beautiful murals on walls and lush majestic carpets.
There is a gallery at entrance, which sells attractive ceramic tiles and islamic calligraphy on canvas (amongst others). A batik shop with interesting colourful arrays of batik for both genders.
The bathroom is spacious too, interestingly designed.
Delicious breakfast spread with wide variety to select. Went down at almost 10am, two consecutive mornings. Each time the food was still warm and refilled. What is unique for me was the counter which served freshly fried cucurs, quickly grabbed each time it is ready. Tastes so good, still hot!
Surprisingly, there is also a choice of fresh yogurt flavours.
Other than the usual nasi goreng/lemak, mee/kuey teow goreng/soup, congee, sausages, baked beans, pancakes, waffles, pastries, salad, eggs, fruits, hot/cold drinks they also served nasi impit, kuah kacang and lodeh. Yummy!
Many meeting rooms, as it is a business hotel. There is a also a huge ship docked behind the hotel, seemingly a place to dine in the evenings.
They also have hawker style booths offering basic local menu, decently priced below RM10 each.
It is a old hotel and some of the furniture is worn. Carpets look newly refurbished. There may be some specks of lint on the carpets especially ones along the corridors, however this can be expected for a such a huge business hotel with caters to large groups.
Despite the wear, found myself having a pleasant stay. Perhaps it is due to the hospitality of the staff. Not everyone is smiles at all times however the ones that do (concierge who is always humbly greeting, readily available to help, the serving staff behind the buffet stations, housekeeping staff who patiently waited outside our door with requested towels as the tv was on loud; overriding the gentle doorbell chime, housekeeping staff who came over to make our room and random smiles around the hotel) overshadowed the few chips of furniture and somewhat old feel of hotel.
Hotel is located just beside MITC and Great British Circus on Ice tents were literally a stone's throw away, during our stay.
Convenient drive to Botanical gardens, Orang Asli museum, Mydin and Mc D. Planetarium is just across the road. Nice masjid just a walk away.
Should you find yourselves having only one towel in the bathroom, just call housekeeping for more. Not too sure why there was only one towel for a room with double bed. Delivery may not be prompt but it is delivered by a friendly staff 😊
TV seems to hang occassionally. All that needs to be done is to just change channels (up/down) and back again to chosen channel,...
Read moreDisappointing Breakfast and Service Experience
I recently had the opportunity to stay at Mudzaffar Hotel Melaka , and while the hotel itself is quite beautiful with spacious rooms, my overall experience left me with a tinge of disappointment. I'd like to share my thoughts in the hope that it might help the hotel improve certain aspects of their service.
Breakfast: One of the most significant letdowns of my stay was the breakfast offered by the hotel. It was lacking in variety and options, leaving guests with very limited choices. The taste of the food was also quite average, which was surprising given the relatively high price tag of RM35 for an adult breakfast. For this price, I expected more than just the standard nasi lemak and plain mee/kuewteow goreng. The side menu was equally unimpressive.
Service: Another issue I encountered was the demean or of the cafeteria staff. They appeared stressed and unfriendly, which certainly did not contribute to a pleasant dining experience. Moreover, I noticed that leftover food from previous diners often remained on tables for an extended period, giving the cafeteria an unclean and unappetizing look.
Facility Concerns: Furthermore, the hotel had issues with its cooling system, and some areas, including my room, were not adequately air-conditioned. Additionally, I was surprised to find that the hotel's elevator from the ground floor parking lot was out of order and had been so for a while. This was inconvenient for guests like me who had to carry their luggage up the stairs, and I wish the hotel had informed us of this issue in advance.
In conclusion, while Mudzaffar Hotel has the potential to be an excellent establishment, there are several areas that need improvement, especially regarding the breakfast offerings, staff friendliness, and overall service quality. I hope that the hotel takes these concerns seriously and works towards providing a more enjoyable and satisfying experience...
Read moreI can tell you , this is a hotel that i shall say money is not well spent . Not worth it at all . From the room aircon , pathetic. I took the family suite by the way . Both the rooms in my room have poor aircon . The living room aircon is the only savior . Tv needed maintenance to come in and do up the tv or else i can't play anything . They don't provide towels. Lucky they didn't charge me extra when i requested it .
Next lights . My room light can't turn off . Its well lit and I don't expect maintenance to come at 2 am when my baby is asleep just to do the light.
Oh here's the worst part! The water stinks of chlorine! I can't wash my baby's bottle at all . Water heater doesn't work. Sink leaking all the way . Terrible. Lucky a night . If more than one . I don't think a refund would actually solve anything. Terrible
I have no great things to say about this place . Worst experience. Paid 280 sgd from agoda for a night here . Money not well spent . Should have just taken hilton . Wayyy better experience!
By no chance i would come back here again . Never .
Please. Management, if there's no way to revive this run down place . Place it on the ground . Sell it off to someone who can use this place better , per say a function hall . Not worth the upkeep cost and letting the customer pay a hefty price and giving them shit . Really . Its a totally bad experience . The lobby looks so bare and empty . Everything is so spacious, but just bare and empty . Too empty.
I cannot say anymore . It's...
