Princess Hotel Pontian — Hotel in Johor

Its centrally located just next to the Pontian Kechil river, and is in the part of the old town.||If anything, beds are comfortable and aircond is cold. However, the room we got had a wet damp smell. Upon checking the bathroom, realised that the door was not closed and there is no ventilation fan to draw the moisture out from toilet!|--|Other than that, car was given compound as hotel parking was full(2 lots only) and did not realise that we have to put parking on Sunday (not aware that weekends in Johor is Friday and Saturday). Would be good to put up on front desk and to remind customers.||Small things to note, back of hotel is a row of houses. There was dogs barking whole night and a man talking loudly on the phone till almost 11pm. Front of hotel is facing main road so sound of cars are quite loud too. Bad sleep due to itchy bed and blanket in Room 207. At first glance, signs of mould and dampness. Water seeping through toilet wall and popping vinyl floor tiles. No ventilation fan in toilet. After bathing, floor still wet next morning. Toilet paper and towel turned damp also. At night, 10min after lying on bed, can feel itchiness, both head and body. Terrible!! The room is not cheap at 128RM per night. Do not be fooled by the nice lobby. Avoid avoid avoid. Receptionists are friendly. Surprisingly clean and well-maintained for a budget hotel—honestly, I was really impressed! It’s perfect for a short stay or a last-minute booking. I didn’t expect it to come with towels, toiletries, and even a hair dryer, so that was a nice surprise.

The A/C works great, the bed and linens were clean and comfy, and the staff were all super friendly and polite.

Only thing I didn’t realize was there’s no elevator, so I had to walk up to the 3rd floor—but honestly, with how clean and pleasant everything else was, I didn’t mind at all.
