Check in is at 3pm and we were there for check-in on time only to be told our room is not ready because the previous guest decided to extended their check out hours and they couldn't give us a time of how long we had to wait. (Unfriendly receptionist)
False advertisment we have booked a family room (1 queen 2 single bed). The owner/ investor Joe Chong bluntly said, full arrogance that such room does not exist and admits it was false advertising.
Racist Management, the solution to our situation was to take 2 separate rooms behind facing the construction ground else we can leave if we are not happy with this alternative and apparently all pool facing units are taken there is nothing more he can do for us. No remorse and no apologies, all done full with arrogance and gangster like attitude. (Mind you this was after close to an hour waiting to be checked in). During our wait at the lobby we noticed another group of foreigners were facing the very same issue but their matter was handled differently by Joe. He repeatedly apologised to them and gave them an 'upgrade' to side by side pool facing rooms which during our time was apparently not available and there was nothing he could do about it but when foreigners of a certain skin colour had the same issue everything was possible.
The resort is located is a rather isolated area which transportation is an issue unless you rent your own car. No eateries walking distance or at the establishment. In my opinion not suitable for families as the rooms are very small. Don't be fooled by the private beach either. Anything extra you need in the room example hairdryer requires a separate deposit to the on that you have already paid during check in.
The only good thing about this place is the pool but that is surely not enough for me to recommend this place or ever return to it again. For the price they charge there are many other better resorts in Langkawi with superb customer service and facilities. Potential is there but the group that runs the resort needs to be changed or at least trained. Rude, unprofessional, arrogant and very obviously racist.
Also beware that there are CCTV around and they do take your picture without your permission and publish it on social media for...

🐣 Ever get that feeling like you just want to escape the chaos of touristy crowds and find a quiet little corner of peace? A Coral Reffs Resort might just be your perfect hideaway.
🐣 Getting there? Well let’s call it an adventure. The road isn’t exactly fully finished yet (hello, offroad experience!), and you’ll have to wind your way through a charming little village road. But don’t worry, once you reach the meeting point, there’s a special vehicle waiting to whisk you off to this peaceful retreat. ✨
🐣 Now here’s the fun part, there are signs warning you NOT to eat outside your room or leave food lying around, unless you want a surprise visit from the local monkeys. Yes, real monkeys. And they do not RSVP. 😂
🐣 When you arrive, you're greeted by an open air lobby that immediately sets the tone breezy, chill. The rooms are laid out around a sparkling central pool, giving major island boutique vibes.
🐣 🏡 The rooms? Not huge, but cozy and comfy. We got lucky with one that opened right onto the pool just slide open the glass doors and you’re practically in the water. Morning dip, anyone?
🐣 🍳 Breakfast is simple, nothing fancy, but there’s enough variety to make you happy (and full). Think of it as a casual kampung brunch with better scenery.
🐣 What really makes this place shine is the peace and quiet. No honking cars, no loud tourist chatter. Just birds chirping and the occasional happy laughter from other guests floating through the air. It’s the kind of calm your soul didn’t know it needed.
Final Thoughts: A Coral Reffs Resort is perfect if you’re craving nature, calm, and a bit of “jungle-meets-boutique” charm. Come for the peace, stay for the poolside naps and keep your snacks inside, unless you're planning a...
Read moreInitially booked 7 nights but on arrival we realised things were not as they seemed when advertised. This resort is at the top of a very steep hill, there is nothing accessible by foot apart from the beach 5-10 minutes walk away, again very hilly and when we were there through red mud as it had rained that morning. The beach was beautiful but strewn with garbage....no seats.. no sun loungers! We had emailed prior to our arrival requesting early check in but got no response and check in was at 15.00 There was maintenance going on in the pool at 13.00 and a construction site backing onto the property. We sat for around 2 hours in the bar/ restaurant area with plastic tables and chairs. The bar was in disarray, there was a group of young people playing a alcohol drinking game and the music just got progressively louder.Staff at reception confirmed our worst fears that most evenings it became a pool party ! There was no seating or sun beds round the pool only netting which was in front of other people’s rooms( bean bags put away?) No seating on balcony area! I’m vegetarian and there were no main courses to suit and very little choice on the menu if staying 7 nights. The advertised mini mart was closed...mid afternoon? After much trouble we eventually cancelled and got a refund but even then booking a taxi it arrived to then refuse to collect us from the top of the hill as it was too steep....had to call another taxi!!! Just would not recommend this resort unless you want noise at night and nowhere to relax...
