Lavigo Resort — Hotel in Langkawi Island

GOOD POINTS: Very friendly and supportive staffs who are always willing to answer your questions, book taxi for you and assist you Clean room and tidy beds Not very far from the center (only 4-5 Ringit) & close to the airport Reasonable price of a dorm bed for 1-lone traveller to Langkawi OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE: A little bit "too quiet", isolated and many trees around, not very busy during weekday so you may feel bored and scared when coming back to the dorm at 78pm Electricity is usually cut off in the evening for common toilet... which is very scary. I had to use the toilet at reception and was not dare to take a shower... So is the wifi. I was unable to connect to internet in the evening. 3G is also slow... Reception is only open during day time and close at 1011pm. If you need to check in/out at midnight / early morning, you should let them know in advance. They don't offer scooter renting service. They may help to book with a next-door neighbor who is often not at home. I could not wait for him to come back, so i booked a full-day service with a taxi and travel...

This place deserves a 0-star rating if that were possible. Our stay here was absolutely horrible. The maintenance is poor, and the reception was unprofessional. The pictures on the website are misleading and do not represent the actual environment. There are much better options closer to the beach and attractions at more affordable rates.

The location is also misleading, as nothing is within walking distance. We felt completely cheated and disappointed. The swimming pool is laughable—it’s barely bigger than an aquarium!

The worst part was the night it rained. Our room was flooded, and we literally slept in water. Despite calling the reception, there was no response. When we reported this the next day, the receptionist simply said, “Oh, sorry to hear that,” with no real concern. Our clothes, bags, and shoes were soaked, and all we got was a half-hearted apology.

The receptionist's attitude only made things worse. We will never come back here again and would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid...

Although we are used to better hotels we booked this as part of a 12 week trip as we needed to budget. ||Firstly positives||Great comfy large bed. |Powerful hot shower |Good hair dryer and kettle|Ok air conditioning given the heat!!|Launderette on-site which was dirt cheap and free ironing facilities on resort. |If you want a taxi into town install the grab app and it will cost approx 85p per journey (like Uber)||Negatives||Bathroom was outside which meant critters like cockroaches were occasionally spotted. |Although they cleaned the room they never ever once in a week cleaned the toilet, sink, bathroom mirror or desk in bedroom, which was odd to say the least. There were even coffee stains on top of fridge from previous guests. |The wall behind the bed needed a new skim of plaster and repainting due to assumed damp. ||Would we go back again - no|Would we go back to Langkawi again - no||If you want to go here don’t book a couples bungalow as they are the oldest. Block B looked better...
