I spent Christmas evening here with my boyfriend, and we had the most splendid experience here. We found this place via recommendations on TripAdvisor but was slightly apprehensive initially as there weren't many reviews on Google. We were not let down at all. Firstly, the ambience takes the cake - it was relaxed, romantic and comfortable. It was set against a scenic setting, and had very Balinese vibes almost. The restaurant also had many cats, but they're friendly and tame. Secondly, the food was delicious. We ordered the seafood platter (?) and the fried calamari for starters, the prawn curry and the fish with mashed potatoes for mains, and the Gula Melaka ice cream and cinnamon cheesecake for desserts. No complaints here, although the prices are on the high side. Granted, you pay for what you get. And that's quality dining experience, second to none in Langkawi. Finally, the service was excellent. We felt very welcomed and comfortable the second we stepped in. Our needs were met at any point, and we never felt rushed to leave, although we were the last diners and they were about to close. This was an exceptional experience for us and we would definitely be coming back if we find ourselves in...
Read moreNam at Bon Ton was an amazing experience. The food was amazing;we had the laksa and fried rice(Nyonya style). The staff was super friendly .The owner is hosting on the premises a cat shelter and an art commune and she was kind enough to give us a tour.Besides the resort and the restaurant, they also have a small shop with handmade products,by Malay producers. We bought a couple of purses made of used kimonos (Makimono). Most of the proceeds go to running the animal shelter (there were around 50 cats there). They are also hosting artists ,creating a conducive environment for them to create. We met a textile artist that as working on creating a portrait of a Malaysian woman out of various fabrics. It was a beautiful experience.People can also volunteer at the shelter. And the last amazing fact-there’s a golf course under construction in front of their property,so they had to relocate one of their houses (100 year old house) to the back of the property . Will definitely make a visit again if...
Read moreWe went around 5pm and it's unfortunate that they were not serving dinner until after 6:30pm. The menu is also reduced/ trimmed to about 30% of what it used to be pre-covid as we were told that it's hard for them to find a new chef.
So whilst we cannot comment on the food the vibe was really quaint, quiet and peaceful. You can view a lake and the pool for guests which was empty as we were the only ones there at the time. The decor is mostly wood which visibly looks a little grey and by 5pm there wasn't as much sun shining down so the place was a bit dim.
The staff though were very kind and we enjoyed checking out the gift shop that you must walk through to get to the restaurant.
There's also cool cat paintings on your way out from the cafe next door so overall interesting find but I wouldn't say it's necessary to deliberately make your way over here unless you stay at their resort (Bon Ton Resort) which looked...
