Hotels are supposed to be a place of welcome and ( hopefully) some comfort. Their main purpose is to provide shelter and to let you have a good nights rest while away from your own bed. |This ‘hotel’ is none of that. It is a noisy, smelly, hot mess, ill-suited for harbouring guests. ||FIRST, there is the overall design of the place. It is built on top of a series of bars, shops and restaurants. The bars and restaurants have outside terraces, directly under the rooms ( also under the ‘inside’ rooms without the harbour view, it is a sort of mall) these restaurants have no ties to the hotel … and they all play their own music - and some of them do so VERY loud. You hear country and western through Bollywood film music - and not just via the outside - also through the very thin concrete floors/ ceilings. This, coupled to the noise of the terrace guests until deep in the night, make the place unbearable and uninhabitable- unless you are a very, very good sleeper or take Bollywood film music for a lullaby. ||SECOND: there is the smell and the heat. Some genius has designed the front ‘gables’ without any window frames. You read that right: the ‘windows’ are sliding doors, suspended on a overhead rail, and the ‘blinds’ ( no curtains anywhere) are simple wooden panels, also running on overhead rails. The suspension rail is mounted so, that the glass windows are hanging one centimetre from the wall, resulting in a one centimetre wide gap all around the door. Yes, directly to the outside world - not joking. Let us do the math, here: a slit of 2.10 m. high by 2.30 m. wide times two … so you might as well put a round hole of 88 centimers diametre in the front wall of the rooms ( no anti- insect provisions, of course) to let in the kitchen smells of the restaurants, the cigarette smoke, the noise of the revellers on the terraces, insects, ( and, again, the music from some very big and very loud weatherproof speakers) The airco, by the way, cannot keep up. ( no wonder, it has to cope with outside air) It is very difficult to keep the room at a halfway acceptable level of cooling. We could not get it any cooler then 25 degrees centigrade. ||THIRD: in the late afternoon, every single day without exception, hundreds of tourists gather here for ‘ sunset cruises’. They do so on the bar / restaurant level, where the hotel reception and the swimming pool are. So do not be surprised if you are sitting on the pools edge in your bikini, gazed at by droves of tourists from India or China. Fourty ( count ‘m!) operators have a license for these ‘ Sunset Cruises’, and not all of their engines are up-to-date maintenancewise. The blanket of thick blue exhaust fumes that hang over the harbour when they start their engines within acfive- minute timeframe must be seen to be believed - or rather: not seen, because nobody can see anything for about twenty minutes. Perhaps this is not the time to discuss fine dust particle pollution…. - so much for the blessings of tourism.||FOURTH: the matrasses are too short for many a non- Asian person. ( but then again: we are Dutch, so we may not be the standard, here) The pillows are cheap foam - and they sme…REEK.||FIFTH: if you like a lively, busy marina with action going on 20 / 7 , this is the place for you. And the poolbar is a very nice place to see the sun go down ( don’t buy the cruise, you can see...
Read moreThe hotel doesn’t have any cameras in the party area, the only camera is located near the exits which was confirmed by the security manager, and it doesn’t show the face of the person who took the bag ( when I asked the security manager to find the time that person came in to see if he had a bag he replied no way that will take a long time! ) If there is a camera in the party area just one not in every corner like mister GM replied, then nobody wanted to show us that footage which is worse, there were many fights and no security was there of course because there was no cameras again, I even checked myself didn’t see a camera, it is a party with alcohol and people swimming, so there are endless what ifs 0 security you can say whatever you want, many items might have been stolen but of course you would not reveal that cuz you are supposed to cover it, your safe box can’t help we luckily kept the most important things in the safe box at the hotel we were staying at we only kept some cash of course to buy drinks, phones in the bag and went swimming like everybody else thinking that you have cameras to protect us like it is supposed to be everywhere but we also kept an eye on our belongings, the thing happened in a sec and by the way we had suspects like one guy next to us mentioned seeing take the bag, the security manager said he checked they left without bag so I wanted to see that myself cuz i was so sure but he never showed me that and kept on wasting time showing your blurry camera at the exit, so smart people might understand what that could mean!! No matter what you do the fact is there you have security issues and probably more than...
Read moreWorst Ramada experience I have ever faced. This property was not even by Ramada itself, it was 3rd party owned with just a name of Ramada like a franchise store. Rooms were very small and contains a lots of ants 🐜. Restaurant was also of 3rd party due to which food was not upto the mark. Salads were not clean, flies were there in the salads. The birds 🐦 were eating from the same food Serving spoons. As a vegetarian, due to difficulty in getting veg food, I took a sandwich 🥪 for me and my wife along and the restaurant guy even had a problem in that despite having very little food as the food was not good. He didn't ask other guys who were packing food and taking away. The cleaning service of the hotel was very very slow. Anything we order took so long to get us delivered in the room whether it is food or towels. In case of Swimming pool, changing room was very unapproachable and it was not clean as well. Didn't expect this from Ramada. Only good thing was reception girl 👧 as she was very polite and also the location of the hotel is good. I won't recommend anyone to have a stay...
