I actually regretted that I did not dine in here sooner, because almost all the food here tasted great! I have quite a benchmark for tasty food and I can say that I liked most of the food here.
For Club Marriott members, just so you know, Sharing Platter and Seafood on ice (for dinner) are not entitled for discount or voucher. This restaurants entitled for 30% CM discount, and then add another 10% service charge after discount, then can use whatever cash voucher you want (Club Marriott)
First we dined in for dinner here;
We got the Rib Eye Steak (medium rare) paired with Bearnaise sauce and Truffle and Parmesan Steak Fries. The steak was really good!! because the one in seasonal taste is really mehhhhhhh... and Bearnaise sauce brings out the flavour 🤌🏻 as for the fries, were really bland 🤕 we were unable to finish the fries. Luckily that we did not order the same side (because we expected truffle fries to be good) 4.5/5 for this dish (-0.5 due to the fries)
and then we got the Grilled Seabass Fillet with Coconut Lime paired with Truffle Jus and Truffle Mashed Potato. as for this dish, it’s not to our liking except for the Truffle Mashed Potato, that was 100%!! Truffle jus maybe was not the great pair for this dish so we could give 3/5 only for this.
(The meals above come with 1 side & 1 sauce each) As for the dessert we ordered Creme Catalan, I like it. I think it was similar to creme brulee. 4/5 for this
Then before we checked out, we had our lunch here. I ordered Mee Mamak and actually did not expect much after seeing the “colour” of the dish because flavourful mee mamak tends to be darker in colour. But the dish exceeds my expectation; it was one of the delicious mee mamak I ever had. Even the mee mamak at the mamak stall also cannot give this kind of taste 😂 5/5, matches the price tag. Hope they can maintain the quality of the dish when I come again in the future
My partner ordered the pizza, Tuscana. Also was good, 4/5 because the truffle oil are not that prominent but overall great. Eventhough both of us did not have our breakfast, we were really full eating two of this dish alone (oh with the complimentary bread)
for drinks I ordered Sunny Side of Life, tasted good but kind of too sweet to my liking, 4/5 and mango chilled juice was decent too.
all in all, I really recommend going to Tide to dine compared to...
Read moreAfter many meals of various buffets it was exciting to reserve a dinner at Tide with the promise of eating more sophisticated a la carte offerings. Sadly the visit can only be summed up as disappointing. This started with the reservation being "lost". From there the table offered was located in a swamp of mosquitos and stagnant air (the restaurant overall is not conditioned, however most seats enjoy the breeze of a ceiling fan). We were told the other tables are not available (while staring at an empty restaurant). Okay.
Drink offerings are mostly the same as the rest of the resort and were certainly not more expertly prepared. The limes in my caipirinha looked dehydrated and brown and the drink subsequently lacked its traditional flavor profile being closer to a seltzer of water and alcohol than a proper drink.
Food was the wagyu ribeye and french onion soup. It was hard to identify the French onion soup as such, it lacking the cheese crust that really makes it what it is. The ribeye, ordered medium rare instead arrives as one medium well and one extra rare. I suppose the combined would meet the desired temperature. I will say the meat was well seasoned and other than its temperature and poor trimming well tasting. Unfortunately it was not supported by the sides, which were barely room temperature, tasting warmed up (an amazing feat for French fries) and overall not the right consistency (the mashed potatoes were soupy and grainy while the French fries were sauggy and tastes more like boiled potatoes). Finally the service varied starting fairly well, but lacking at key moments.
Cutting to the chase, given the prices and billing as a steakhouse this can only be described as a miss and to be honest while I was looking for a change from the buffets, the food offered there was significantly better. Maybe the only upside to the restaurant is its location to view the sunset, however, I would say the food is not worth the price of admission and there are many more places to admire the sunset and eat...
Read moreI am totally disappointed with the service of the staffs. I made a reservation for 4 adults and 1 children but when I arrive I was given a square table with 3 chair and was told that table was for me as all other tables have been reserved. I then told them I have reserved for 5 person but they say they couldn't do anything as all tables have been reserved. Later then after some minor argument, we were then given a bigger table.
We then asked for the menu to order. We were served by some trainee I think which he is not sure of the menu when I asked about the cooking preparation and etc. All other senior staffs were available but refuse to serve us maybe because of the argument for the table or because we are Club Marriot member ? As compared to other tables, the staffs were friendly and ordered patiently, smile and greet when they arrives but with us, they just treated us inpatiently.
We asked for a kids plate but was only given after asking for 5 times and after waited for almost 20 minutes. When I arrives at 6.45pm there is only 1 table with 4 person and when I leave at 8.30pm there is only 4 tables occupied. Definitely more to share but I think overall was not a...
