Hotel Jelai Temerloh — Hotel in Pahang

The worse ever budget hotel experience. Stayed for 2 nights. 1st night we were provided with a room where the aircond was not cold enough n the water heater is not working. I went down to the receptionist n complaint. Believe it or not only 1 lady working as frontdesk n no other and she was the 1 who came to my room with a ladder to check the aircond n the water heater. Then we were asked to change room. The other room was even worse. No cold wind at all from the aircond leaving my family sweating in the room. Went down and complaint again due to holiday season all rooms were fully booked then the front desk lady simply wanna refund us just like that then i told her u want my family to sleep at the side of the road?? With no other choice i had to go back to the first room which already had problem with aircond and water heater. Then i wonder why not even a word "sorry sir" came from the frontdesk lady shows she is indirectly rude. The aircond was not cold enough so i pointed the aircond only to my wife. Went down again to ask for a fan. Then again the lady replied with no fan. Lucky 1 male staff just arrived n put n effort to look for a fan. After a while he came with an all dusty standing fan. I had to clean the all dusty fan my self before using it.

Other problems i noticed was the house keeping was not done cleanly. The floor was dusty, a cracked mug and oily being served for guest to use. I poured water in to the mug the i saw a thin layer of oil floating in the mug, disgusting really. That shows this hotel is poorly maintained in order to maximize profit. I am not trying to bring down any1's businesses but the experiece i had with this hotel was outrageous. This will be the first and final visit...

Walk in to this hotel while attending a course in Temerloh. Travelling with wife and 2 kids and we took a family room which came with 2 queen size bed. Room looks aging, its ok. Noted dust not wiped off on the bed headboards and thats still tolerable. |But once get a closed look, noticed ants moving in line on the mattress and thats intolerable. ||So went down to the counter to complain and was offered another room. Still dust on headboards, but this time ants not on the mattress but at side table. Also noticed hairs on both mattress.||So complain again and was offered another room, decided to give them last chance. |This time, no ants, no hair and felt ooh, finally can settle down... but then a small cockroach crawling out from the chair. ||Thats it!!! So I went to the counter to cancel the room and request for refund. Its after 6pm and only 1 male staff around. He told me that I have to pay RM5 (charge imposed by credit card to hotel for any cancellation) for the cancellation. I refused to pay as I think its not my problem leading to the cancellation. ||Got the payment cancelled at the end with no extra charge.||But throughout the process, NO apology was offered. ||Terrible room!...

I arrived at Temerloh and asked for the same room from 3 different hotels (which are all in the same area). First hotel - the Q Hotel offered me RM118. I went to the Green Park Hotel nearby and was offered RM125. Figuring we won't get any lower than RM100, we decided to just try our luck at Hotel Jelai. Surprisingly, even though the hotel looked like it will be a little bit more pricey considering the outer decor, the price they offered was RM98 for a deluxe (one double bed one single bed) room! ||||Curious, I asked the guy at the counter while he was checking me in, "is walk in cheaper, or is online cheaper?". I rest my case when he said online will cost RM125 for the room I chose to stay in. It totally changed the concept of budget hotels for me. ||||Anyhow, we thought it was a pretty good stay. Location wise it is located at the heart of Temerloh with easy access to food at night. Toilet was clean, I loved the shower. Air-conditioning was not optimal, but did its job. Staffs are friendly. They offered complimentary breakfast, but I would suggest for you to skip it and just go get your breakfast at a better kedai kopi because it was not good at all....
