It was the last day of my visit to Kuantan, and we were planning to go to Kuantan Pickers for breakfast. However, seeing the long queue, we quickly opted to search for an alternative breakfast spot. We found Makey Palace Kuantan to be a stone's throw away, so we went there instead.
Perhaps due to the fact that it was a public holiday, when we were there at 10am, the store was just getting ready to open for business. The waitress was kind enough to let us in while they were preparing in the kitchen.
We read through the menu, and we finally settled on the first thing that caught my attention: Lamb Shank set with Chicken. It was a meal for 2 to 3 people, and it was not stingy on the portion size. The lamb shank was exceptional. It was cooked well, succulently tender, juicy and well marinated, with rich and flavourful gravy. While the chicken was tasty too, it paled in comparison to the lamb shank. The curry was also thick and fragrant. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
We ended up finishing everything by just the two of us, and needless to say, we were completely sated. I'd recommend anyone that likes lamb shank to give this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāre from Penang and wanted to try this place after reading the reviews, which were quite decent. But based on my experience, this place is nowhere near expectations. I wanted to order Nasi Lemak Kerang, but the staff casually said, "I donāt know if we still have it," without even bothering to checkājust telling us to order Nasi Briyani instead. Fine. So I decided to go with the briyani and asked about the portion size, whether it was big or just a normal portion. Again, she said, "I DONāT KNOW." At this point, the mood was already off. I felt like leaving and going somewhere else, but my wife said, "Itās okay, letās just eat here." Alright. I saw they had four types of Kopi on the menu, so I asked about Kopi Tenom. And yet againā"I DONāT KNOW." She had no idea what any of the four types of Kopi were. Seriously? Youāre selling something, but you donāt even know what it is? What kind of customer service is that? To make things worse, the briyani was tasteless, the ayam masala had no masala, and the daging hitam was bitter. Overall experience?...
