Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan: A Gem by the Sea
Rating: ★★★★☆
During our recent stay at Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan, my family and I experienced an enjoyable and memorable holiday. Nestled along the picturesque coastline, this hotel offers an excellent blend of comfort, service, and scenic beauty, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and adventure.
Ambiance and Facilities
From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's welcoming ambiance and elegant décor. The lobby is spacious and beautifully designed, setting a positive tone for the rest of our stay. The facilities at Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan cater to a wide range of interests and needs. We particularly enjoyed the well-maintained swimming pool, which provides a refreshing escape with stunning views of the sea.
Room and Comfort
Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. The panoramic view of the beach from our balcony was breathtaking and quickly became one of our favorite aspects of the stay. The beds were cozy, ensuring a good night's sleep after a day of exploration.
Dining Experience
The hotel’s restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring both local and international cuisine. We found the food to be delicious and well-prepared, with a special mention for the seafood dishes which were fresh and flavorful. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, with a wide selection of options to suit all tastes.
Service and Hospitality
The staff at Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan are courteous, attentive, and eager to assist. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. While the check-in process was smooth, it can get a bit hectic during peak hours, and this is an area where a little more efficiency could be beneficial.
A Unique Natural Phenomenon
One of the highlights of our stay was witnessing the unique natural phenomenon of the low tide sea level, which continues from around 6 pm to late at night. This fascinating occurrence allows guests to walk out onto the exposed sea bed, offering an extraordinary experience. However, to enhance this experience, we suggest that the hotel install two large spotlights directed towards the beach. This would allow all guests to fully appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of this natural event, even after sunset.
Conclusion
Overall, Swiss-Belhotel Kuantan provided us with a delightful stay. The combination of excellent facilities, stunning views, and friendly service makes it a standout choice in Kuantan. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning in the future.
We hope that our suggestion regarding the spotlights will be considered, as it would significantly enhance the experience for all guests eager to witness the low tide phenomenon.

Read moreEverything is wrong with this hotel for me & my family 1st experience stay at this hotel. Really worst experience. First, when I arrive at this hotel at 3.50 pm for check in, there was a long queue for check in, I think about 30 people queue before my turn. Then came one security guard (women) tell to all hotel guest to remember who is queue before & after yourself. Then she goes to nowhere. So ridiculous & not responsible at all! After wait for more than 1 hour, I got my turn to check in (for me something is not right when guest have to wait more than 1 hour just to check in). After complete all process to check in (the front desk staff forgot to give me my receipt for deposit pay - RM100), the front desk staff that assist me tell that I have to wait about 45 minutes because the housekeeping staff is still not finish clean the room that the front desk give to me. What a nuisance! Just change my room to other room than you let the guest wait for another 45 minutes after wait for more than 1 hour to check in! Really worst hotel management! After wait for other 45 minutes, the front desk give me the room key card (my room at 25th floor). Then I & my family park our car at 3rd floor because we have to change another lift to get to the room. After I try for more than 10 times, the key card for my room can't use to access my room. So I asked one of the housekeeping staff next to my room that my key card can't access my room, she try for 4 times and still the key card can't access my room. She then help me to get into my room just to let me put my bag by using her master access key card. But she told me that I have to go again to front desk to change my access key card. This is really suck! I have to go down again to front desk from 25th floor with my family waiting outside the room just to change my room access key card (for me the front desk can ask one of their staff to get into lift & send to me the new key card). So after get my new access key card at front desk, the front desk staff apologize to me because she mistaken give me the another room access key card. What is this!!! So ridiculous because for you mistake, I had waste a lot of time to check in into my room! This hotel towels is just like 'kain buruk' because it so thin & and quite yellow thatn white. Other wrong with this hotel is their adult swimming pool & children pool is so small because at the peak time, you can't swimm at all in the adult swimming pool because you will accidentally touched others. With this worst experience, this is my 1st & last trip at this hotel, not worth at all for 4 star hotel. So...
Read moreEvery year, we make a trip to kuantan but this was our first stay here in swiss belhotel which i understand is quite a new building. Firstly, if you dont have a car, i suggest a place nearer town as there is no mall or grocery stores nearby, only tomyum seafood restaurants. They do however have a quite decently priced minimart in house which stocked a number of necessities. Room is similar to a service apartment with kitchenette, spacious, modern and a fantastic view east (especially at low tide) towards the river mouth and south china sea. It does help if the room has a small sofa. Wifi on the 16th floor was more than decent for our devices. Daily breakfast was complimentary for two pax but the rate for breakfast for my kids was very reasonable. A wide variety of average choices daily but our favourites were the noodles (curry and clear base) and the lovely egg station. However due to the festive holidays, i think the hot drinks machine were not able to be refilled quickly enough but you can tell the staff were trying their best. The front desk, housekeeping, security and cafe staff were helpful and friendly overall. During busy periods it helps to have more staff to man the front desk.
Few items that could be improved on to really make it a five star experience. Bathroom heater can be improved, some days the water was hot, some days just cold water. Towels provided look thin and looked aged enough to be at least 3yrs plus without changing. Room AC fantastic at night but during afternoons, can feel a bit warm. My room water heater switch is no longer fitted nicely as were some of the sockets near the workdesk that we dont dare to charge my devices on a socket that looks protruding from the wall. There are a lot of children at the poolside, therefore the wooden deck needs to be better maintained. It is a shame about the deck as the pools here are gorgeous. The floor of the lifts are always wet from swimmers, not sure what can be done here and during busy periods, the lifts from all blocks are slow and insufficient and i have used the stairs many times during my stay. During school holidays, the car parking lot can cater to many guests but those who have driven here before know that the car park ramps are one of the narrowest that i have ever had the displeasure to drive on. Overall I felt the room rate was quite high for this place but with certain improvements, it will definitely get a 5 star rating from me during...
