Review for Kafe Santai Kuantan
During our recent visit to Kafe Santai Kuantan, we decided to focus on their seafood offerings, and it turned out to be an exceptional choice. We brought along a few fresh fish for them to cook, and the result was nothing short of amazing.
The ikan bakar was the highlight – perfectly grilled, with a smoky aroma that complemented the natural sweetness of the fresh fish. Every bite was juicy and flavorful, enhanced by the accompanying tangy and spicy dipping sauce.
We also tried the sotong bakar, and it was equally impressive. The squid was fresh, tender, and cooked just right, without any hint of chewiness. It paired beautifully with the zesty sauces provided.
A standout from the meal was their Kengsom Ikan, a new dish on their menu. The broth was bursting with flavors – spicy, sour, and incredibly well-balanced. The fish in the dish was tender and soaked up the rich flavors of the soup perfectly. It’s definitely a must-try for anyone looking for something different yet authentically Malaysian.
Kafe Santai Kuantan's ability to bring out the best in fresh seafood truly impressed us. Their cooking style respects the natural flavors of the ingredients while adding a delightful local touch. Highly...

Read moreDISAPPOINTED. My family & I used to eat at this restaurant before and everything was delicious and affordable. Now, the food served is COLD. Tomyam seems have been cooked looong before, it is not fresh and the soup is lukewarm. The mushroom in it tasted like it has been boiled over and over again, it turns very mushy. Same goes with ikan pari bakar & sotong sambal that is not spicy at all. How on earth they are cold when the fish & squid are handpicked by us before send for cooking??? These mean that the food has been prepared beforehand. That's why even when there is many customer orders, you cannot hear chef's busily cooking. All workers are 'santai'. AND THE PRICE IS NOT AFFORDABLE. 3pax for RM97. 1 squid for RM16???? Never again. This restaurant can do better...
