Galaxy Hotel — Hotel in Penang

I came here for a business meeting and opted to stay for a night as it located very close to my meeting place.||||Nothing special about the place.. is a basic, simple hotel with large room but not well furnished/decorated. It can be seen that the maintenance begin to slack, this can be seen in the washroom where water stains were everyone and there were even stickers left unpeeled on the walls. ||||Some of the power plugs were not working in my room but since I only stayed in one night so I didn't bother to make a remark to the receptionist. Basic facilities/amenities were given, such as shampoo and bath but there's no hair dryer (collected at the reception counter upon request, limited units). ||||Dull design in the rooms.||||The western restaurant in the lobby was disappointing My eggs on toast were poorly cooked as the Chinese lady chef was busy watching her phone while preparing our breakfast. ||||However, given the room rate charged, I would say reasonable at least it was...

The room is spacious and clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. However, the location might be an issue. Perhaps this hotel does not suit my schedule as I will be travelling around Bukit Mertajam area and it's a little too troublesome.

Don't get me wrong, it's nearby but you will go thru a lot of traffic lights (you may U-turn and use the toll road instead). The other issue is during peak hour, the traffic starts immediately from the exit of the hotel.

In my opinion, this is cool for people who are wondering around the nearby area and for a quick pit stop like a small rest before continuing their journey to the south or north.

Overall is a good stay, you cant get any larger room with such affordable price...

SG Family on the return trip after 30 days Road Trip in Thailand from Dec 2019 to Jan 2020. Choice location due to the close proximity to North-South Expressway and Penang 2nd Link Bridge. Reasonable price. Spacious room with 2 queen size beds. Equipped with a centralized water heater and individual AC. Standing shower. Toilet bowl comes with a bidet. Ample parking space with a night security guard on duty. The staff is very friendly and customer-oriented. Nonetheless, need to improve the wifi and TV...
