Hillview Ipoh — Hotel in Perak

Overall, the stay was good, but there are a few things that could be improved for future guests.

First of all, it wasn’t clear that it was a self check-in. The instructions should be clearer to avoid confusion. On the day of check-in, there was a miscommunication — I was initially given the wrong room. My partner and I had already started using the towels and bathroom when we were told to switch rooms. Once a door code is shared, it should be final. If it's sent to the wrong person, it could pose a safety risk, especially if the guest had bad intentions. Guest safety should be a top priority.

Secondly, regarding the iron — it would be helpful to clearly label it with a note like “Do not bring it to room” to prevent guests from keeping it to themselves. I tried looking for it at night but didn’t want to disturb anyone. Even the next day, it was still missing.

Lastly, we noticed that the bedsheet left lint marks on our clothes, which wasn’t ideal. (I’ve included a photo for reference.)

The property is a newly built bungalow just beside a hill and a temple. there are plenty of local foods around within a few minutes of walking distance. the check in check out is very simple, and the host and caretaker are friendly. since it's slightly further out from the city, the air is fresh especially so because we are beside one of the big hills. One downside: at night, there will be a low pitch humming, which I presume is the pump running for the water tanks. it didn't bother me, but soundproofing could be improved for the rooms. there's enough parking at the property or beside it for about 6-7 cars, so no...

Didn’t expect how nice the view was when we arrived. It was a limestone hill right in front of the accommodation. It was really peaceful and quiet.

We arrived really early and didn’t have time to notify the staff. We were apologetic and so were they, even though they didn’t have to be. They accommodated us right away. They were really friendly too.

Guests can use the mini-kitchen with microwave, iron, sink, etc. The room was clean and has complete amenities. Sheets were clean. Our stay was very comfortable.
