I stayed in Redang for 3 nights. It was low season and not many people on the island. Everyone told me to pay €100 to stay at the Taaras Resort and I refused because that it is way out of my league. So I called the Guesthouse number and the son of the owner told me that I could have the whole place to myself because there was noone there yet. Wow. It was one of my best experiences in Malaysia since it was like a home for me and my room was out of this world, although I didn't have hot water but the pipes heat up with the sun so the shower feels hot. The village has everything you need and Arikiya has a kitchen with coffee, tea, cups and plates and free water etc. It felt like home thanks to the family who run it and who also have a restaurant at the jetty with great food and nice views. Read moreA family of 9. My wife, my two daughters and son in law and 2 grandsons and one grand daughter. Inshort 6 adults n 3 children. We were here at Arikiya for 2 days and one night. A very enjoyable short holiday. Warm n nice welcomed by the owner Cikgu Zuki and his crew. They were very helpful and disciplined in time keeping. The accomodation is clean and food were reasonable good. for the price we paid. Nice view and sight seeing. 4 Island hoping plus a beach picnic + free swimming lesson. Read moreService of host was quite nice. Friendly. N the room package was quite cheap. Air-conditioned. Room are cold. Got a dining place for family N friends. Barbecue area to barbecue. (Just prepare foods,charcoal,lighter and tools to barbecue. ) Mirror quite large for us to check our outfit. Got kettle and hairdryer just beside the suits. Floor N bed are clean. No buffet is provided. There is a store under this Homestay. Selling some snacks.
