We were a group of friends of 4 families and very excited and looking forward to this different concept and experience which Véronique had so well and attractively presented to us in August when we visited the place and from all the beautiful appealing pictures we saw on Facebook. We booked a whole house and upon our arrival at around 2pm on the check-in day and to our great surprise there was no one to welcome us. We were only told where the house was located and that the door was open. The only thing which was up to our expectations is the physical surrounding which is beautiful and charming. Things unfortunately didn't get any better the next day! We were expecting a simple warm and friendly atmosphere and in return felt left to ourselves with hardly any people around and false promises. To add to our frustration, we had to try several times to get in touch with someone in charge being told that they were all off duty and the people who could attend to our needs were there only as temporary replacement. Regretfully we deplore a lack of staff availability and communication resulting in poor service delivery. Thanks to Rama who has tried his best to stick the pieces back but we feel sorry that what could have been a fantastic stay has turned out to be a very deceiving customer experience. Although fairly priced, it was not at all value for money and we will definitely not recommend the place...
Read moreThe grounds are absolutely beautiful! I think it’s brilliant that you can use their other resorts FOC. For example there’s a beach club you can use, there’s 2x hotel resorts you can use. You can drive or walk there, using the path on the golf course - ask at the reception.
I think the rooms would benefit from a kettles and mini fridge. The beds are extremely hard.
Cusomer Service - apart of one person who seemed like everything was too much of an effort. The customer service was good.
Of course mosquitoes are a natural hap hazard and insect repellent is a must. However, I do think the communal area should have citronella coils to prevent the mosquitoes.
The breakfast is basic and not very vegan / vegetarian friendly. But; you’re not in a resort so I didn’t expect anything too fancy. I didn’t think much of the food (bland) the dinners are set menus - extremely limited to a vegan vegetarian diet.
You can book restaurants in the resorts but bearing in mind it’s going to be expensive. Much better food options down the road and a short drive away
Wapalapam Island Eatery (20 minute drive)
The Chaser Mauritian Bistro (25 minute drive)
Sunset Restaurant ( walking distance)
A lot more eatery options near La Gaulette ( 20...
Read moreWe fell in love with this place! The bnb is in very calm and secured complex. The diner and breakfast were great, we were served fresh and local products. The room and complex is well thought and perfect for a getaway. It is a very child-friendly place, different games are available including volley, pétanque, dart game, and other board games. Electric bikes are at disposal. We loved that we could easily pick and choose activities to do outside of the complex, such as going on a Bay2baytour, going for buggy, having lunch at enbapié, visit le chateau de bel ombre which is within walking distance etc. If you're looking for a true Mauritian experience, this is the place to go! A big thanks to Cherilyn who has been an excellent host from the beginning of our stay and the friendly and...
