Response to Blue CoconutI read your response and you are LYING. Even my credit card company which was also my travel booking service said what you did was unreasonable by not honoring the price on my reservation. They were honest enough to fix this since you wouldn't do the right thing. Note to all future customers -book with a credit card so you can dispute the excess charges later. Everybody should be warned. It is not derogatory when I called the neighborhood the hotel is situated in the ghetto. It is absolutely a ghetto. Don't lie to your customers . Additionally, the neighborhood is also very ugly and unsafe according my taxis . Be warned. I didn't ask for a new TV remote because I didn't come to Mexico to spend a lot of time watching TV but I wanted other people to be warned. You already showed that you cannot honor reasonable requests such as properly billing your customers, so why would I have asked you about the TV? And I could only assume that was the best your air conditioning unit could do. Maybe you should perform maintenance checks on your property and focus on getting rid of the ants that are all over your rooms. Also do a better job of cleaning your tables, keys, remote and bed frame so I don't have to be a housekeeper when I'm on vacation and clean the filth Left behind by previous guests. Nothing was lost in translation. I speak Spanish. What you did was wrong and justifying it add's insult to injury. The only thing your message should have said was "I'm sorry. We'll make it right. " Do better. I told you when I was there I was going to leave a review. At least one of us was honest.
We booked through a travel website. None of the reception workers would honor the price of our booking. They charged us over $30 US dollars more. I asked why and they said taxes. I told them ' look our reservation says includes all taxes and fees' and they changed their story and said they don't use the Mexican exchange rate, they have their own and would not honor the price on the print out of my reservation. With my small children next to me they told me if I don't pay it, I can cancel even though it is non refundable and I wouldn't get my money back.I have a pregnancy disability so I paid and let them know that this is stealing and I would leave a review. The United airlines booking service tried to talk to them but told me the hotel was being unreasonable so they would refund me anyway to make it right. Thank you United Airlines. The clerks at the hotel could have been more polite. They told us not to steal their towels which I have never done in my life but they know how to make their guests feel uncomfortable. There were so so so many ants in our room. Their idea of continental breakfast is literally plain toast with glass barely bigger than a shot glass of juice or instant coffee. You can put butter and jelly on it yourself. There is nothing else that comes with continental breakfast which we paid extra for unless you want to pay to upgrade more which was not mentioned at the time of booking. Even though we were not used to the lack of choice in a continental breakfast, especially as vegetarians, the breakfast was probably the best part of our stay because we all like strawberry jelly. The TV did not work in our room and we were so hot because the air conditioning in our room was not powerful. They did a nice job of decorating the place with plants, and pretty colorful paintings on the wall, lights on the trees. There is a mall in walking distance that has 3 mediocre restaurants inside. The pool was dirty, tiny and kind of scary looking. None of us got in. The neighborhood surrounding it is ghetto and our taxi said ît is not a safe area. I took a couple Clorox wipes and wiped off the remotes, keys, and tables- they were black with dirt when I finished. The worst part though was the first impression- Once someone tries to steal your money I don't think you can come back from that. Blue coconut- you can do better. What you did...

Read moreNegative: Wow! The location is so sketchy that even the cab driver did not want to go there! The pictures certainly don't do the place justice. The photos make it look like a nice place and, in fairness, the exterior (behind the huge metal gate and after you go past the bent and damaged metal grate door, and after you have checked in with a clerk who kept one hand on the metal cage door to his "reception" area) does not look that bad. However, we came in, checked the place out and left. The place certainly does not deserve a position, let alone a ranking on TripAdvisor. There was garbage stacked against the wall and entrance, and the road was more of a back lane. We didn't even bother to ask for a refund. Yes, the price is very low, but so is...
