I booked two types of rooms. ||1. Deluxe room, #1 . Fair enough for the price. I requested to stay in this room but it was not possible ||2. The second room I booked was shared bathroom, room #7. The worst room ever, dark, cold, next to the kitchen and reception. There is no way yo sleep , you can hear everything from everywhere. I recorded the noises from the upper level room. At 10:30pm, I addressed this to the receptionist who tired to help me. The receptionist looked afraid to call the general manger but he did it and this “gentleman”requested to speak with me . He is the rudeness, unprofessional person . His lack of empathy and cruel behavior is beyond normal. He knows the room is not adequate for any guest, he kept cutting me off, misleading the conversation by saying that I was shouting . I was so disappointed on my pajamas , cold , on my holidays , at the reception. Afterwards, he implied I got a special price for the room. That’s NOT accurate. I paid the full price . Therefore, at 23:00 pm , having 6 more days to go , he requested me to leave Casa Azabache. I told him that I was alone and I did not have where to go . He didn’t care. He said he was going to help me to book something for me , but he lied . I had to check on internet and booked a place to stay for the night. I overheard his conversation with the receptionist stating “ let her go, I will not give anything for free “ I was just asking to stay for the night while I figure it out where to go and get full refund for that night and the upcoming days . ||||He returned me the money but still it is a matter of principle when you offer a room , full price, that it is impossible to sleep. He was even demanding for||me to wear earplugs . Whoever decide to book here be careful with room 7 and with the manners of the General Manager / Owner ,...
Read moreThe hotel itself was lovely, such a nice place, and the staff were exceptionally helpful, sending us links to things to do and advice which was really appreciated. The rooms were quite compact but very clean and well laid out. We had access to a fridge and kitchen area, which was also helpful. The location of the hotel was a short walk from the centre and made it easy for us to get to and from the pick-up points for trips, and when going for food and drinks.||The only reason I have not rated this as excellent is due to lack of sleep. I'm personally quite a light sleeper so I really struggled to sleep here. The rooms, although absolutely lovely, are very close together and quite thin walls, so you could hear everything. The hotel has a no loud noises policy from 10pm - 10am but there was still a fair amount of general noise from other guests (one morning I was woken up at about 7am by an American speaking on her phone, in her room). I'd certainly love to stay here again but would have to...
Read moreWe only stayed for 1 day and really regret it. Casa Azabache is located centrally, only 4 blocks of the Zocolo and a few steps away from shops, bars, restaurants and the OCC bus station.||It is a very small place and therefore does not have the typical hotel atmosphere.. it is really family style, cozy, warm. The open area and room are beautifully decorated, very boho with wood, colors and hammocks.||Our absolute highlight was the staff, super friendly, helpful and interested. We inquired for an early check-in and in worked out, THANK YOU. We needed suggestions for tours and we were able to book them on a very short notice, THANK YOU. We asked for some ideas of nice places for drinks and dinner and ended up having the best evening, THANK YOU.||Small ideas for improvement: - safety deposit boxes for the rooms, |- search for an alternative for the small plastic head and shoulders-amenity |- change the tour operator, the tours were ok but didn’t meet your standards ||Unbeatable...
