I just ate the finest Mexican food I have eaten since I moved here six years ago. It was sublime! I ordered frijoles de charros al Pastor. Most people are familiar with al Pastor. The method of preparing and cooking (layered pork) is based on the lamb shawarma brought by Lebanese immigrants to the Mexican origin of al Pastor, the Puebla region. Today al Pastor can be found nationwide. This soup was extremely flavorful (I must admit, I LOVE charros beans). Mixed with chopped vegetables, a savory beef broth, and the obligatory mix-ins (cilentro, chive onions, serrano peppers, radishes), the beans and the Pastor just make this one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten. Sadly I leave tomorrow to go back to my home on the Costa de Oaxaca, but I will back San Cris. Te amo San Cristobal!! Kudos to Restaurant La Lupe, tu comida es excepcional!

Wow! Truly good. Flavors combine to produce amazing dishes that OMG need for you to come everyday! Personnel is awesome and facilities are good! We had the Quesadillota Muerta de hambre that was GREAT, it combined areachera, chicken, cheese, chorizo and Mushrooms… sooooo amazing! The flavorful Mazapan rita (the prehispanic rita!) was soooo good too! The salsa bar amazing and the other stuff I saw at other tables was impressive. Overall a great place for locals and tourists alike!

Our first dinner spot during our trip to San Cristobal. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Conveniently they have a English menu which meant the whole group did not have to depend on me for translation. Everyone ordered something different and loved our dishes. The salsa bar is a fun addition. Cocktails using Pox were fun. Fresh tortillas that you can watch being prepared! Worth the visit!

My favorite restaurant in San Cristobal de las casas...amazing service, they are courteous & friendly. When there's a lady making tortillas, you know it's authentic Mexican food. I tried the enchiladas & a dish called Muerta de Hambre, it was delicious & had a great presentation. Their chilaquiles for breakfast had great flavor as well. The cheesecake was delicious with cafe de olla.

Excellent places with a big variety of dishes to choose from! I’ve tried Muerte del Hambre (death of the hunger) and it did kill my hunger in the best manner possible 😄 Other than that I’ve tried their Posh drink (local corn liquor) and chocolate with cardamom - highly recommend! Note!! You can’t leave a tip by card so make sure you have some cash because the waiters deserve it.

Thought this would be a tourist trap with the hostess wearing traditional costume outside to lure you in. But the food was good. I just had a simple omelette while my friend had the torta stuffed with chilaquiles. I loved the wide variety of condiments and salsas in the middle of the restaurant and the café de olla was good. Also liked that the tortillas were done on premise.
