We were looking for a step up from the hostel and found this hotel online. It was cheaper to pay at the desk than to book through the website (expedia) which was nice. They gave us a room on the second floor facing the street. There was a window that opened to a terrace, and the view is of a hillside with a huge Mexico flag. San Cristobal is a beautiful city! Was a bit chilly at night, but we had plenty of blankets. The TV Cable worked great as did the remote. The water one night was a bit chilly, but we asked the guy to turn the water heater up and it was great for the rest of the trip. The shower was huge and everything in the room was clean. Guest services were friendly; however, they do only speak Spanish. This is Mexico though so for me it is something that SHOULD be expected- does not take much to learn some important phrases in Spanish. :) We were planning on only staying one night here and decided to stay one more. Overall it is a lovely hotel for a...
Read morethe place is huge, but i think we were the only guests in the hotel. service was less than friendly. i don't think anyone would have said peep to me if i hadn't greeted them whenever i passed the desk. the room was spacious and clean enough. the shower got pretty hot. we had two nice big windows that opened onto the courtyard, and there's a nice balcony in the front of the hotel that overlooks the street and the huge Mexican flag on the hillside. the hotel is located close enough to the zocalo, just requires a couple-block walk down a street with little sidewalk to speak of. i would recommend taking a cab rather than hauling luggage from the zocalo. it was a good deal when we booked it ahead of time, but when i tried to book another stay on our way back through town, the prices seemed to have gone up dramatically and they were asking more than i was willing to pay...
Read moreThe hotel is really beautiful and the common areas are nicely decorated, but our room was simple, noisy and cold at night, with an uncomfortable bed.||||The hotel seemed empty when we arrived (as most of the rooms had their doors open) and we were given one of the rooms looking onto the street. Traffic, as well as conversations and a TV set was audible during the whole night. ||||On the second night a group of Spanish-speaking women (I don't know if they were guests or service) started speaking very loudly at 4 in the morning. They were shouting and making noises for 1 hour and nobody did anything to stop it.||||Service was bad: the bed was badly made and every day we found one single towel (small) for the two of us.||||I would't return to this hotel and it's a pity because it is a really...
