This hotel is in an excellent location in the area surrounding the plaza where the pretty church and municipal building are located. The hotel appears to have two sections, one is the older section with the original thick walls and an interior courtyard. A second courtyard leads to a newer section with a two-story building with what I assume are more recently built rooms. There is a small but nice swimming pool, although it is not heated and the water can get cold.||Our room was in the old section. Although the hotel is nice there were some maintenance issues that such as lock not locking from inside our room. We reported this, but it was not fixed during our 2-day stay. We did not worry much about this as the whole area appears pretty laid back and safe.||Parking lot is ok but there is no gate and they don’t have security there at night. I asked about this and they told me that so far there had not been any problems.||The hotel is relatively inexpensive at less than $50 usd per night and the beds were comfortable. The AC was useful and there was also a ceiling fan. No refrigerator or coffee maker or hair dryers.||As I mentioned before the original area is nice although we have seen similar old buildings that are now hotels that are kept in better shape. These are minor issues such as peeling paint and maintenance in general. Still the hotel is nice at a good price in a good location.||Another plus is the restaurant that serves very good meals at reasonable prices. The specialty is the chiles rellenos, which are really good, stuffed with, shredded instead of ground beef.||Internet works well but it is better to use it outside in the courtyard area or restaurant as the thick walls appear to interfere somewhat with reception.||||The plaza is a pleasant place for a stroll and the church is illuminated at night and it is very pretty.||||We would stay again at this hotel if we go back to...
Read moreWe visit every few months & when available we stay here by choice for 8 years due to the fantastic location, restaurant on premises and friendly, professional staff. This is a very old feel of classy Mexico and I am very proud to take my friends specifically to this hotel & restaurant. If you are looking for a modern Hilton it’s not for you. Rather it’s very clean, nice place and comfy beds & rooms where you can take a break and relax in class. Pool is nice & secure parking. We ask the staff for anything and have never been disappointed nor have we felt anything but welcomed! The manager (fantastic manager) & one of the ladies speak good English and always help me if needed. You are in the plaza and can walk to stores, restaurants, doctor, church, ice cream shops, and more. I hope they never change the old feel of this hotel because it’s one place that keeps me coming...
Read moreWe stayed two nights during the Mexican independence weekend and had a wonderful stay. Our room was upstairs and in the back, which was very quiet. Both the hotel and our room were very clean - the bed was extremely comfortable. The air-conditioner worked well and the shower was nice and hot too. We were expecting it to be loud due to the hotel's location which is in a central location, but our room was very quiet. The restaurant was also very good as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cuatro Ciénegas. You can get to all the sites very easily and have a...
