Hotel Loma Linda — Hotel in Compostela

My wife and I just finished 5 wonderfull weeks at Hotel Loma Linda. Our bungalow ( kitchenette ) was ground level, poolside with a table to sit at outside our room. This was perfect because we originally was booked on the second floor of the new building across the street which was not ready for occupancy yet. Our room 126 has full kitchen and appliances apon request including wave oven. Three full size beds with comfy mattresses, but the pillows are below Canadian standards. If your thinking long term make sure you have room in your suitcase for a pillow. You will thank me. The shower was so nice, hot water when ever you need it. Thet supply you with a 5 gallon reusable jug, the first one is free and 30 pesos per jug after that. They will deliver the water to your room.|What makes this hotel so special are the guest staying their, the majority for 2 to 4 months, some even longer.|The minute you check in you will be wellcomed by staff and other guests. It turns into a real community here during the winter months with all guests. They have various activities throughout the week, fridat nights is music and dancing night up by the parking lot. You love it at Loma Linda meeting so many people, no grumpy people staying here.|There is a swim up bar with bar tender and he makes great cocktails and cold beers |Loma Linda is two blocks from the beach and close to the west end of town. This is a good hotel location for the beach because the west end has the calmest waters...

Our family specifically chose this place to go swimming. I have twin sons and am 8 months pregnant. The pool literally looked like a public bathroom. You could not see the bottom, there was some type of fungus on the sides and there were thousands of dead bugs floating on top. My husband asked the woman at the front desk if the pool was clean and she said yes, that it was. When we showed her the condition and asked her if she would swim in it or let her swim in it, she said definitely not and agreed that someone would get sick swimming in water that disgusting. We asked for a discount in the room because it was late to find another hotel that accepts dogs. She said no. We asked to speak to a manager, again, the answer was no. We asked for a refund, the answer was no because we had already stepped foot into our room to change into our bathing suits. We asked for a discount at the restaurant as compensation. Again, the answer is no. Basically, they are willing to take your money, not give the service that they claim to give, and offer no type of compensation. I'm so disappointed. There is no type of hospitality at this hotel whatsoever. My recommendation is to look elsewhere because this place just isn't worth the disappointment. Yo no conocía este lugar, llegué ahí porque me uní de último momento a un grupo que viajaba al Rincón Guayabitos.||||No me agradó que el hotel no estuviera a pie de playa, pero vamos, no estaba para quejarme de esto por el precio que me dieron en el grupo. Lo bueno de la ubicación es que está sobre la avenida principal, lo que te asegura que encontrarás restaurantes, puestos de comida, licorerías, Oxxos, bares y tiendas de conveniencia y de regalos a 3 pasos de ahí.||||La entrada al hotel no se ve muy bien desde la calle porque es muy pequeña y da la impresión de que el hotel es diminuto (pero no lo es).||El Lobby, limpio, pequeño y cómodo. El staff muy amable y dispuesto a ayudarte rápido.||||Tienen WiFi gratuito de velocidad decente en CASI todo el hotel (excepto las habitaciones del fondo), sólo hay que pedir la clave en el Lobby.||||El complejo se encuentra detrás del lobby, vi un par de edificios en excelente estado, lo que me lleva a pensar que acaban de remodelar el hotel.||||Los pisos se ven nuevos, los camastros y palapas en muy buen estado, la alberca igual: de buen tamaño y muy limpia, cosa que se agradece bastante tomando en cuenta que si quieres mojarte un poco, no necesitas salir del hotel para ello.||Al ser hotel familiar, es obvio que habrá niños y bastante ruido durante algunas horas, sobre todo en la mañana, pero ya pasando el mediodía, la gente prefiere irse a la playa y la alberca queda casi vacía hasta la noche. El horario de la alberca es de 9 a.m. a 10 p.m.||La primer noche seguíamos despiertos hasta muy tarde y vimos cómo limpiaban y cloraban la alberca durante la madrugada.||||Tiene un pequeño bar a un costado de la alberca que cuando llegamos, estaba vacío, pero en la tarde "abrió" y ofrece bebidas preparadas, cerveza y botana a buenos precios.||||Nosotros llegamos alrededor de las 10 a.m., hora local, y aunque se menciona que entregan las habitaciones hasta las 3 p.m., nosotros las recibimos en ese momento.||||Aquí es donde viene un punto importante:||Yo iba solo, así que me asignaron una habitación sólo para mí. Dicha habitación era muy pequeña: sólo tenía una cama matrimonial, un ropero, TV, aire acondicionado, ventilador de techo y un baño pequeño con lavabo, espejo y regadera.||He de mencionar que el cuarto estaba súper limpio y muy bonito, la verdad hasta me sorprendí. Las pintura y estado de las paredes era excelente; los pisos y azulejos del baño se veían nuevos, así como el retrete, espejo y el ropero; el equipo de aire acondicionado parecía nuevo también y era muy silencioso.||El único punto "malo" es el tamaño: inadecuado para una familia. Esto por las quejas que escuché de algunas personas del grupo, pero a mí parecer fue más bien problema del organizador del viaje que del hotel en sí.||||Hay habitaciones más espaciosas con refrigerador, estufa y utensilios de cocina y hasta con sala, por eso recomiendo a quienes piensen en ir a este hotel, que consulten esto al momento de llamar para hacer la reservación para evitar una sorpresa.||||La limpieza de la habitación la hicieron alrededor de la 1 p.m. y no tuve ningún problema con "cosas perdidas".||||En general, califico de positiva mi visita a este hotel. Es muy económico y la verdad quedé complacido con la limpieza del lugar, la amabilidad del staff y el descanso, porque aunque había ruido afuera, al menos en mi habitación todo era...
