Imperio de Angeles Executive — Hotel in Guanajuato

This hotel is in the middle of remodeling. I am not sure if that was the reason it was so noisy or if it is the marble tile floors. I was kept awake the 2 nights I stayed and it was just horribly uncomfortable. It sounded like furniture was being moved at 2am. The clicking of heels literally all night long.||Also, they have this really ugly statue of a caricature of a black man/boy, I don't know who or what he is supposed to be. It's really takes you by surprise when you see it. I guess sensitivity is not the goal for the owners? Just seems bizarre in this day and age. ||Anyway, other than what I mention, this hotel was clean. Nothing fancy in the rooms but they were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Fruit and sweet rolls and breads, coffee and juice. Also, hot options like chilaquiles, meat and egg, pancakes, etc. Really attentive and friendly staff at the front desk as well as concierge and waiters. ||If it wasn't for the noise. I would stay again. It's about 10 minutes from the center...

The one thing this hotel definitely has going for it is its location. If you have business to conduct at the Poliforum, it's just perfect.||Parking is cumbersome, as they require you to have a card which you can't get until you check in. Rooms are not always spotless: the carpets made me uneasy at times. Furnishings and color schemes are a bit outdated, the internet connection is mediocre, and room service is sourced from an adjacent chain restaurant which is not very good. Breakfast service is very poor. The lobby always has too many people just hanging around, which is not good. Finally, it is located in one of the busiest intersections in town, which means a noticeable level of noise at all times.||It has too much competition nearby, so I would not choose it as my first option on...

Great value for online price(much lower tan rack price). Accomodation and licstion were more than expected. |Although a bit dissapointed in the staff attention: |- At arrival, the bell-(not so young)-boy took my luggage and placed it at some counter without letting me know. |- The look of the front desk staff was not the best. I would expect a wrinkleless shirt among other details...|- The halls in the room floors are not carpeted, so they are so noisy.. We requested a quiet room and were given (at earlier time than check in time, I'll grant you that) a room between the rooms of a group of teenagers staying for the weekend. As you might expect, the ambience was not quite 'business', and had to call security to...
