I have to say that I was let down by this hotel, and I STRONGLY discourage people from paying the $2500 peso price they were asking at the counter. You can make online reservations at half that price, but then you are at the mercy of an antiquated reservation system, and anything you paid for online (like internet or the upgrade) is a hassle to avoid being double charged.
First off, they couldn't find my reservation even with the confirmation email on my cell phone, so I had to make another $1500 peso "deposit". When they did find my reservation I had the pleasure of repacking and changing rooms to take advantage of the "upgrade" that I had paid for. The "upgrade" was pretty much the privilege of using the internet because moving me to the other side of the other side of the hotel had a less attractive view. I believe they were charging USD$6 per hour for internet access which another reviewer described as abusive.
I would save this hotel for conferences or events when you don't have to deal with the reservations or the staff yourself. If you value convenience, you will probably be as let...
Read moreThe hotel boasts an enviable location, situated right in front of La Minerva, making it a convenient and attractive choice for visitors. However, the overall experience falls short due to noticeable issues with maintenance and cleanliness. The property is in dire need of a comprehensive renovation to match its prime location.
The shower in the bathroom was heavily affected by black mold, which not only impacted hygiene but also created an unpleasant odor. The carpets throughout the hotel were visibly dirty, stained, and showed significant signs of wear and tear, detracting from the overall ambiance. Additionally, some of the furniture and fixtures appeared outdated and in poor condition, further emphasizing the need for an upgrade.
On a positive note, the staff provided exceptional service. They were consistently friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to accommodate requests, which somewhat balanced the negative aspects of the stay. With a much-needed investment in modernization and improved cleaning standards, this hotel could truly live up to its fantastic location and offer a more enjoyable experience...
