The rooms are clean and modern and the included breakfast was delicious. Towels are ratty but that's not the biggest issue. The issue is that they have a problem with a few of the women working the front desk who should not be working in hospitality at all. One of them, while doing absolutely nothing else, refused our request for help when we asked her to make a dinner reservation for us across the street. She said no, and we thought it was a communication error so we typed it into a translator. Her response then was, "We don't make reservations." Good luck, non-Spanish speakers! We spoke to the manager about it a few hours later during a power outage where he was kind enough to charge our cell phones in the lobby. He was not happy to hear about her unhelpful response while she stood around doing nothing else. Despite all expectations of the power being restored within 2-3 hours after the early evening storm, power was never restored and the rooms are not set up with even a single outlet to work on their generator. There are no fans. They don't even have guest wifi routers hooked up to the generator. The room was hot and stuffy so we suffered through a sweaty, sleepless night with the window open with the jarring sounds of traffic all night. Upon our 4 am checkout, at the end of our ropes after almost 10 hours with no electricity, we asked for two bottles of water from the woman who had stood next to the manager last night during our conversation about how his other employee refused to make a single phone call for us to make dinner. Remember, the tap water at the hotel is undrinkable. This morning, this second woman looked us cold in the face and said that the water would be 50 pesos. My husband had to say, "We had no electricity all night, can we not have some free water?" She relented but made sure to do it without a hint of kindness, despite the hundreds of dollars they saved overnight from not having any AC units hooked up to the generator. Why are they not prepared for the lengthy power outage? They didn't even check on their guests. They should have offered water to everyone last night. The restaurant staff is absolutely lovely but for some reason they are unable or unwilling to replicate those gracious personalities with the women they staff up front. We won't be back; there are way too many wonderful people in this town willing to be kind for...
Read moreThe property was clean and well-located, and the staff, particularly in the breakfast area, were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, my AirPods were stolen from my room on the second day of our six-day stay. I reported the incident to the reception desk and provided the GPS location of the AirPods using the FindMy app to aid in the investigation (they were in the outskirts of Guadalajara, far away from the Hotel)
The following day, the hotel manager informed me that a member from the cleaning staff had taken my AirPods, claiming to have "found them in the trash" and decided to keep them (the earphones were obviously not in the trash, I don't have the habit of storing expensive gadgets with used tissues and leftovers). I was informed that the thief faced a temporary suspension, and while I did recover my AirPods, the entire ordeal left an sour taste in my mouth. This incident, coupled with the discomfort it caused, led us to opt out of having more staff people coming into our room for cleaning during the remainder of our stay, which was an inconvenience.
Our choice of this hotel was influenced by the expectation of avoiding such issues, and this experience fell short of our hopes. Despite the recovery of my property, the inconvenience and disappointment overshadowed what could have otherwise been a...
Read moreThis hotel is new and is the hotel to stay when visiting Guadalajara. At first we thought it was kind of strange that it only had 2 reviews but we gave it a shot and it did not disappoint. Once we arrived at the hotel, the check-in was smooth, the bellboy (I think his name was Marco) he was so helpful and took our luggage to our room, he recommended us places to order food from and also took our food to the room, he also made sure that all our need were met and even explained how the tv worked. The room that we got on the 9th floor was perfect, nice view, the gym was on the same floor as well, room was spacious enough and the bathroom was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room also has a smart tv. Breakfast was AMAZING! One of the reasons why we will be returning, their chilaquiles and waffles and all of the other buffet style options were so good and different every single day. The staff here makes you feel at home and they were always making sure we were comfortable. Everything is at a good distance, we also found a restaurant bar that had mariachi (called casa bariachi) that was a 6 min taxi drive. Thank you so much to everyone, we will be recommending this hotel to the...
