Hotel Posada Tonala — Hotel in Jalisco

I have stayed at Posada Tonala several times. It is in the small Pacific Ocean beachfront town of La Manzanilla -- not the other La Manzanilla de la Paz (up in the mountains near Guadalajara). The Posada Tonala is located on the "main" street of town -- that paralells the beach. The hotel is across the street from the easily accessible beach. There are approx 16 rooms in the two storey hotel, it is a great location, and the hotel as a web page. ||||The owners and staff are very accomodating, the common areas are air conditioned. This is a small basic hotel in La Manzanilla at a great price. It is very close to the beach and you can get a small view of the ocean from the upstairs lounge. Our room had air conditioning and the beds were comfortable. The place was very clean and the hotel staff were lovely. This hotel is close to the beach, restaurants and stores. Last week we spent 3 days visiting friends in La Manzanilla and stayed at this quiet small hotel. Very clean and a real bargain (500 pesos a night). Right in the center of town. A block or two in any direction took you to a choice of restaurants, the beaches, coffee houses or bars. Nothing fancy but...
