Our AA flight was cancelled due to union strikes (weather related my a**), so we were stuck in PV for another night otherwise we wouldn't have found this local gem. I agree with most of the reviews, the property is well located to the airport and downtown, it is charming, well maintained and very reasonably priced. The continental breakfast is superb and very good for families and groups. It is located in a small neiborghgood near the Marina with ample parking spaces for guests. Don't think much about the so called golf course next to the property, it is worse than some of the worst maintained par 3 courses out there in the US. The suites are clean, very spacious, full function kitchen, cook ware, eatery, silverware, etc. The fridge is Maytag! At least in my suite I had 2 balconies front and back. The pool is clean but small, and there are hammocks in the courtyard. Here are the cons, I did find reptile feces on the 2nd bathroom windowsill, it is not a big deal but the house cleaner should've picked that up. The suites are spacious indeed, but it is not central conditioned, there are AC wall units in the living room and individual bed rooms. There are also ceiling fans in each room. The problem with that is, you have one door access card which also controls the electricity in the suite, if you leave for hours and come back to a hot suite, it will take over an hour to cool down the living room (due to the larger space) even when the wall unit and fans are on full blast. For the people who actually would like to enjoy a little quiet time and watch a movie or two in the unit, the sound quality is horrible from the TV. Don't get me wrong, it is nice TV, but due to the large living room and the TV being in the corner of the room, the acoustic is horrible especially when the TV has rear speakers. Everything came out muffled. If you are not planning on spending a whole lot of time in the suite, you are good to go.

Beautiful little hotel with great staff. Close enough to the airport that traffic wouldn't be a hassle, walkable if you don't have a large amount of luggage. I did not hear a single plane while in the suite, and only the occasional plane while outside. As mentioned in other reviews, each suite is essentially a modern apartment. Two rooms, each with their own king sized bed and individual AC units. Large open central living space with dining table and full amenities, especially in the kitchen. If you simply want to cook your own food you absolutely have the means to do it. The living space feels modern and welcoming, and the atmosphere is relaxed throughout the entire area. It's the kind of place where it's easy to make friends with your neighbors because everyone's in such a good mood. I cannot stress this enough; the comfiest beds I've ever experienced in Mexico. As a consequence, the best sleep I've ever had in Mexico.

5 night stay in the “wild” room. Room has an outdoor bathroom. No microwave! Very loud construction taking place outside the room - see my video. Noise started around 8AM so definitely couldn’t sleep in. Quiet pool with few kids. Restaurant next to pool has good food and drinks. Breakfast buffet is adequate and costs 295 pesos. We spent most of our time at the pool. I’m not sold on the outdoor bathroom for a more expensive rate. I did get some mosquito bites. Insects can easily get inside the room through doors and windows. 50 peso uber drive to the Marina or 20 minute walk through the golf course. The hotel is nice if you’re looking for something that is less commercial and smaller than a typical hotel.

My husband and I stayed a week at the San Tropico Jan 5-12. We booked this hotel because we wanted a home style accommodation with kitchen after spending some 20 days at two Marina Vallarta hotels eating restaurant foods. We also liked to stay in the Marina area. This hotel has potential to become a great small hotel if they improve on maintenance and management. ||||Location:||San Tropico’s location is about 20 minutes walk to shops and restaurants. Not the most convenient but the walk is nice during the day. A taxi or Uber ride is better should one need to go out or get back after dark as the area is very quiet except for barking dogs when one walks past those luxury houses.||||The Service:||All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Though the front desk is located in an open area, I would prefer the staff wear face masks while interacting with hotel guests given the Omicron is spreading fast and PV has got the most cases per capital in Jalisco early Jan. When I was at staying at the Marriott and Holiday Inn & Suite, all staff wore masks in both outdoor or indoor areas. ||||Our suite was not serviced one day. We are late risers and usually have our room cleaned after 2pm. We noted that the cleaning staff usually came around 3pm most days. Last Sunday we waited till 3:45pm and no one came. I went to the front desk to check only to be told all cleaning staff were gone for the day. Think management should advise guests if cleaning services are unavailable Sunday afternoons. ||||Hotel Grounds and Room:||Hotel grounds are beautiful with lots of greens. The hotel has a small bar/ eating area that serves breakfast and simple lunch till 4pm. We did not try the food so cannot comment. The pool looks clean and there are plenty of lounge chairs available. ||||The suites are very spacious and have full kitchen equipped with basic cooking utensils, cutlery and tablewares. The suite we had was very clean but there were some maintenance issues.||||1. Loose toilet seat in the second bathroom. They fixed it quickly.||2. Kitchen sliding window wouldn’t lock. As we had a ground floor suite facing the street so we asked the maintenance guy to cut out a rod to keep the window shut at night.||3. Inconsistent water temperature. Think there is problem with the pressure balance. One gets either burning hot or cold water in the kitchen. En-suite shower ok but second bathroom shower experienced inconsistent water temperature sometimes. Also we could not use both showers at the same time, else no hot water.||4. Old and cheap cutlery inconsistent in number- 5 knifes, 4 forks, 7 table spoon, 6 teaspoons . Time to get new sets.|| Also same for table ware. Many plates and bowls are badly chipped. ||5. Some linens are very old and need to be replaced||||This hotel offers great value for money but I personally would not mind to pay more if they improve on the above issues. I am glad we stayed on the ground level as there is no telephone to call front desk. We had to go there in person to report any issues and our suite was probably...

My wife and I stayed here on the last night in PVR, the proximity to the airport was the main reason for booking as well as taking a chance on the Wild Studio! The pictures are exactly what you get, its super different but cool. We didnt know what to expect staying here in the middle of the San Tropico court yard with an outdoor bathroom etc but it was honestly, great. The outdoor bathtub and shower were great, nice and warm, no issues at all, felt very private even though you could hear people around you, the plants etc hide you very well. It was super clean, the bed was very comfortable. Only suggestion I'd have is to find a way to seal the windows on the bathtub side so Geckos etc cant come in. Didnt experience that but my wife was worried about it. ||We also got to use the hotel ammenities, the pool was heated and was the perfect temperature! Clean and no harsh chemicals, was a relief from the all inclusive we were at prior to coming here. The front desk staff were very nice, hotel is in a great location, there is a restaurant but we didn't use it. We did Uber Eats for dinner and it was fast and delicious! ||We would recommend this to anyone looking for a stop over in a good area, walking distance to the marina and close to...
