Public Market Thursdays — Local services in Jalisco

Review for the thursday night markets here. A lot of booths here, mostly selling little trinkets and souvenirs. Some of the booths have similar or even identical stuff. The price initially offered is not cheap. I think it's pretty much expected you'll have to haggle a bit. It should be pretty easy to haggle it down to at least 50% of the original price. If you are persistent enough and have enough time and energy to haggle more, you can probably cut the price down even further. Whether that's worth it is up to you to decide.

I was hoping that there would be more food stalls but I couldn't find any except for a few down at the tail end of the marina towards the south. We were pretty hungry by then but most of the restaurants were already full or booked out so we ended up taking a uber somewhere...

Every Thursday from 6 pm, the entire Marina Vallarta turns into a glowing, humming universe of flavor, sound, and creativity 🎨🎶🌮 Last Thursday was my first time 👀, and I swear I was wandering around like a kid who just discovered color. Hundreds(!!) of vendors. Endless stalls. Two full hours of drifting, tasting, listening… and I still barely scratched the surface 😍 And here’s the magic: it’s not your “same old” market. The range, the originality, the handmade everything—you can feel the love dripping from every booth 💛 Plus, all the shops and restaurants in the marina are open, which can easily turn this into a four-hour adventure without even trying 🍽️🛍️

Every Thursday, the waterfront transforms into a bustling market, lined with vendor stalls and tents stretching from one end to the other. You’ll find just about everything imaginable, from local and international cuisine, baked goods, and sweets to clothing, art, handicrafts, and a variety of street food. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable, making it a great place to stroll, take in the scenery, and perhaps discover a unique item or treat.
