Disappointing: we have had enough mediocre experiences at Hampton Inns in Mexico that we will be avoiding the chain of hotels in the future and taking our business to a better hotel such as Marriott or Holiday Inns, Mexico. Con's: * Very low quality breakfast 2/10 not worth the time whether free or not. Warm milk for cereal -- cold coffee -- ridiculously hot breakfast dining area and boiling hot buffet area. Hotel is using little to no air conditioning for the restaurant and buffet area. We turned on an industrial cleaning fan in desperation of cool air to eat. Loud blaring televisions complete the awful experience. * Hallways also receive zero air conditioning and are boiling hot. Not a great way to economize. * Cold shower the first night, appears boiler heat for water can't handle the number of guests or rooms -- as warm water returned in the morning. * 15-20 minute check-in time, not including waiting in line. Check-in experience was ridiculously long. * Pathetically worn hallway carpeting needs replacement (see photo) Pro's: * Great location * Very clean room * Room was modern * Safe parking * Pet friendly ($550 mxp including tax)

Our room was pretty run down. The staff was friendly and helpful but I was not impressed with the beds or the bathroom. The pullout bed was dirty and unmade. Staff arrived to make the bed but put a duvet (without cover) on the dirty mattress pad with a single sheet folded in half over top. I spread out the sheet and requested another to cover. The queen bed had a blanket over the sheet. I’m my experience those are not washed regularly.

Definately the best Hampton Inn I have ever been too. Modern, clean, upscale and arctic air conditioner. Nice staff and great complimentary breakfast. What's not to like? Really nice mall walking distance too. Thumbs up.

I have to say the front desk person's behavior was shocking. When we arrived, she told us we didn't have a booking at the hotel. We were 100% certain we did but our cell phones and computers were out of power and we had no way to access our confirmations. (Again, 100% certain we were booked at the hotel). Instead of offering us a solution like, if you'd like, we can book you into a room and once you have your confirmation we can adjust the payment). She offered us nothing after we had travelled to the hotel for 10 hours. She smirked at us as though she was enjoying our stress. It was really disturbing. With the attitude of: "oh too bad for you, sorry about your luck". We finally asked if we could book a room (after hours of trying to straighten things out and once we were in the room), the hotel staff confessed that there system was down and we they had found our booking. The only reason we didn't attempt to get our money back (I seriously considered this) is because the front desk supervisor Aurora was awesome and so too were the other staff who tried to help us access our booking confirmation." Not sure why you would have someone who is so disrespectful of herself and your guests with such palpable condescension and disdain for people as your first point of contact unless you are attempting to tell people you don't want their business, because that's the attitude she gave off, she must be seriously insecure and gets her kicks treating people like garbage. Wish I would have read the reviews prior to booking, it seems the hotel doesn't care that there are multiple complaints about the receptionist. The hotel itself was just o.k. The rooms were clean with the exception of the couches and linens that were stained. The hallways and walkways are filthy. Breakfast was awful. The location was great, close to all kinds...

First of all I have to admit that the reception girl was very nice and accommodating. I got a nice junior suite upgrade (Hilton Diamond) and the two star rating is not due to that. The problem is that there is no soundproofing at all and apparently people love to pull and push furniture on the blank tile floors at 5:30 in the morning and then all day afterwards on all of the other floors. You can absolutely listen to everything your neighbors are saying ,their cellphones, the ringtones and unless you’re a very social person ,which I am obviously not ,I don’t think I’m going to come back to this hotel ever. There is no bell boy and no room service at all. I’m glad I could book this at 10,000 points because it’s not worth $120 a night, absolutely not in a city where you can get a nice hotel for $45. By the way this is the hotel that is probably the farthest ever from the airport. There is not one supermarket or anything useful within the next 3 miles. You get a Cosco (no US members accepted, duuhhh) and one of those useless malls without even 1 luxury or at least interesting brand (unless you consider Zara,Stradivarius ,H&M and pull&bear luxury,Yawnnn) . Do yourself a favor, if you don’t get a rental car don’t take this hotel which is really faaaaaarrrr away. It’s not even Mérida anymore.I got another 5 day in points booking with them which I just canceled. God bless the points as I can cancel immediately without any penalties.I Couldn’t believe how bad it (the construction to be fair) was. And what about the grumpy bartender? |Resuming: If you can’t sleep in a hotel, what’s the point? |And…no Pool in city with 85F the whole year...
