Ok. I'm certain this will be my last update to my review. I fell asleep, briefly, after locating my coffee. My phone starts ringing at 0900. This is the phone I could not get to work nor could the staff last night at midnight. Now they need to move my vehicle. This is a vehicle they parked, I used it at 0225 to go buy cough medicine but I returned it to the exact location, per the the night staffs instructions.
Since checking in late last night I have had one problem after another with my room key, my phone. I haven't been able to use the FREE WI-FI Haven't had the FREE in room coffee and my vehicle is in the wrong space. The space the vale place it in.
I'm spending at least two more nights in Mérida. I'm guessing I will.nont be spending them here
I wrote a review on this property last night. Early this morning I needed cough syrup. I drove to the nearest pharmacy. Upon my return I found my room key would not operate the elevator to my floor. So I went to the desk in the lobby. They were happy to give me a new key. This key worked great on the elevator. Once I arrived at my room it would not open the door. I was tired and had a cough Once I got to my room I just collapsed. Fast forward 4 ot 5 hour I awoke and tried to make their free coffee. I found I didn't have regular coffee and I didn't have decaf. I had a bag with sugar, creamer et el but no coffee. So I went to the lobby desk. They gave me two or three actual coffee bags, one cup each. I returned to the elevator and my key worked perfectly to get me to my floor. Once to my room it didn't work at all. I had to return to the lobby and request, for the 3rd time, a key that would work in the elevator and my room. I travel a lot for work. I will not be using this hotel agian. Couldn't get the wifi to work. Couldn't get to or into my room this morning and had to go searching for coffee.
AVIOD THIS PROPERTY AT ALL COST.
This hotel is not in a horrible location if you have a vehicle. Service, not due to and staff problems, is just horrible. I booked a Jr. Suite. I arrived after 2100. I was tired and just wanted to get some last minute work done on a project due in the morning. I was told combination of room number and other personal info would get me Wi-Fi. I tried repeatedly and could not get any internet. I went to phone the desk and found the cordless hand set either was not charged or inoperable for some reason. I also noted the AC was working fine over the entry door but it was still over 34 by the bed. So I walked down to the desk. They sent not one not two but three men up to resolve my Wi-Fi and other issues. By 1245 the only issue resolved was the AC. My Wi-Fi and phone never worked.
I had thought about staying here several night. With no working Wi-Fi or phone I don't even see how...
Read moreFirst of all, this place is a 2 / 5 but I felt the 4.6 rating was highly inaccurate and needed to be brought down.
Pros:
Extremely kind and helpful front desk and restaurant staff. They really did try their hardest to be pleasing.
Cons:
Luke warm shower. Even on the highest setting, it didn’t get hotter than a luke warm, and apparently it wasn’t just us.
Dirty beds. Our sheets and pillows had lipstick stains. We asked for them to change it, and even afterwards the pillow still had lipstick stains.
While we were in our room, someone knocked on their door and was dressed in a full hazmat suit. Apparently they had to sanitize our room due to covid? The hotel employee, dressed in a hazmat suit, and equipped with a bug spray type wand entered our room and literally sprayed the floor with an unknown chemical, disregarding the clothes and sheets strewn around.
Isn’t this something they should be doing in between guests? Highly disturbing.
At first glance, the lobby had a nice modern decor to it. But the more you pay attention, the more obvious it is that it’s almost like a nice AIR BnB. Nice exterior, but a cheap interior littered with cheap ikea...

You may be out of luck - 30 min drive to the vibrant center with all its bars and music. But the reason for giving 1 star was serious miscommunication with the 'management', or complete lack thereof. I was there for a planned stay of five days, three covered by the local research institute and the inn had my credit card on file. My partner receives a call on day three to send people to pack up my luggage. That was it. No note, like hey we noticed you are still around, or receipt the night before, with a can we help you? I felt evicted and humiliated. For me, they ruthlessly broke number one rule for hosts: take care of your guests and treat them with respect....
