This is my second time staying at this hotel. It is in a good location, it offers a good breakfast, friendly hotel staff, the rooms are always clean and in a safe area.
This time around our air wasn’t working and they sent someone up to fix it right away. The housekeeping staff is always eagerly working to clean and prepare rooms for the next group of guests coming in.
There are several things to do within walking distance such as Paseo Santa Lucia boat ride, walking around Parque Fundidora especially at night when it’s lit up, or you can walk the whole canal all the way to the Museo de Historia Mexicana. It’s also close to Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Mexicano, Cintermex, Arena Monterrey and Pabellón Ciudadano.
The building has an Oxxo in it (and there is also one across the street that sells alcohol) several other restaurants are located inside, my favorite is Botanero Morita, an ice cream shop, a food court, a barber shop, and various other shops (eyelashes/nails). It has a Pizza Hut downstairs, it’s very close to a Chili’s and a Carl’s Jr. You can always enjoy tacos across the street in the mornings during the week from one of the stands.
This location doesn’t have a pool but it has an AMAZING view that can be enjoyed on the hotel balcony not to mention the free laundry facilities that this hotel offers make it a...
Read moreThis hotel is brand new and is very clean and well maintained. Our company booked it for us, as I believe it was the least expensive. The only issue is that it is truly an "express" type hotel and there is not much near by, there is no small shop to buy essentials, the breakfast was fine, nothing special. ||||It is a bit confusing as the "lobby" is up about 3 or 4 floors from ground level. Check in took a long time as there ever only appears to be one person working at the front desk, and in the mornings with the complicated Mexican invoicing procedures the wait times stacked up. There is a pizza hut take out place across the drive way from it, so that is good. ||||The one big complaint that I had was that the toilet seat is of the cheapest of cheap varieties and can't support much weight, it tends to flare out and bend at critical moments. One does not expect to pay a decent rate to have to sit on the cheapest of cheap toilet seats. Everything else was adequate and the linens excellent. It seemed the upper floors were where most guests were, as the elevators took a while to come and go. ||||Interesting place, rooms and cleanliness fine. But I do not recommend the location as there is not much within...
Read moreReserved two rooms, were given on the first floor. One of the rooms, we had maintenance come and try to fix the AC in the room but the entire night, my two step daughters and sister in law had a horrible and hot night! The next morning requested maintenance yet again, was told it was fixed but when we got back from shopping, it still felt horribly hot! I’d say, stay away from the rooms facing the Oxxo as the maintenance man had said, the sun on that side causes the AC to go out. I told him, how inconvenient, I have the blinds in the other room open and it is hot outside, yet, the ac is working just fine! Guess he didn’t know what to say as to why the ac never worked in that room. Location and bellhop were amazing! Front desk clerk on Sunday, after 1pm, rude! Extremely rude, I can say. I’ve been an ambassador to IHG hotel for years now and I can say, the manager or whomever it was at the front desk should fix their poker face! They are after all, the face of Holiday...
