This place was such an amazing little oasis. I had booked a hotel on fifth, and got driven absolutely mad by the sound and hectic all around me. It was a breath of fresh air to land here, in this beautiful hotel and in Andrea's and Ekaterina's care.
This place is thoughtfully run, with people's comfort in mind. It's small things that add up that make all the difference: -the place is in a residential neighborhood not far from the center, which means it was relatively quiet. I never felt unsafe walking around here, even at night on my own. The locals are very friendly. -wifi was good enough to have video calls -Nespresso in your room, and complimentary coffee/tea/filtered water downstairs -real fluffy sheets! I loooved this -earplugs by your bed -good aircon -not just shampoo and soap, but also conditioner available -lovely interior design -spotlessly clean -both a normal towel and beach towel available for your use -swimming pool to lounge at, and a shared place to work. The shared areas were never crowded, and always welcoming -there's a streetfood vendor in the same street, for when you come home at night craving a snack -the collectivos drive up and down 30th for 10 pesos, if you need a ride somewhere to the center of town -lavanderias nearby to wash your clothes
But most of all: Andrea is such a warm person and communicates so profesionally, kindly and with a lot of empathy and understanding. I felt taken care of and at home, and am so grateful I got to land here for a...
Read moreWe enjoyed this room very much! It was small but very clean, cleaner than our ALoft hotel later on. Such a cute trendy vibe. There were water bottles, and a place to refill downstairs. Very clean pool. Would be nice to have a shelf for toiletries in the shower, I agree with that review. We enjoyed Netflix, free WiFi, the small walk to the main strip in Playa. I will say if you aren’t comfortable walking in an area where the locals live you need to know there’s a few blocks of that. The entry is a code they send (it says email but they sent it via what’s app - which was fine we just didn’t know that). There is no front desk but as you enter you have another code to your room. Also worth mentioning that the hot water didn’t last that long but it wasnt too cold when it ran out. We felt very safe and secluded. We got to meet a gentleman who we think was an owner and he was very sweet and helpful. The photos look...
Read moreRodina is a very nice place, strategically located, with very good cost/benefit. The rooms are clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a comfortable and pristine bed. While the place is 4 blocks away from 5th avenue and from the nicest restaurants, it is one block away from 30th avenue, one of the main avenues of Playa del Carmen. You can take public transportation on the 30th Av. and there is a pharmacy and a grocery store just around the corner. If you stay at Rodina, don't miss trying authentic Mexican tacos just a few blocks away at a very affordable price. Furthermore, the owners are very nice people, who care for the wellbeing of their customers. They provide filtered water and freshly made coffee every morning, which is very convenient. I felt safe and comfortable at Rodina place, and I highly recommend it if you are...
