This is a very simple place recommended by our local guide. We were looking for pulpo and they had different variants of it. We tried the pulpo a la plancha (grilled octopus). It was flavorful.. served with rice and veggies, just not the same how it is usually served in Spain. Our local guide also recommended for us to try arroz a la tumbada (mexican’s version of paella). It was filling and was a very generous portion. The place closes early. The staff was all very nice and attentive. If you want to try something off the tourist area and in a quieter place, this is a good option for seafood.

Delicious ceviche! The best we had on our trip. Full of locals and only a few blocks from the main tourist strip. Amazing prices. My wife has celiac (very sensitive) we brought our own chips just in case they fried their own in house (which they did thus cross contaminating with gluten), but there was no salsa inglesa, maggi or soja in the ceviche so she got to enjoy it!

We came here on a recommendation from our driver and we are glad we did. I got the shrimp chili relleno and my son got the fajitas, dang good food. They had this green hot sauce that was fire in a bowl for sure but I couldn’t stop eating it. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, definitely gonna make it a regular stop for us in Playa.

Absolutely. Phenomenal. I was drawn in by pictures of what looks like paella. Being a paella lover, I came and find out it is actually arroz con tumbada, a Mexican dish strikingly similar—this one with crab, fish, and octopus as well. It rivals any paella from Valencia motherland. I am blown away, it was so rich and delicious and excellently balanced. I am glad that this place is where I first experience this dish. And in the end? The price is unbelievably economical. Outrageous underrated value. I am so glad I came to this more locals spot; would do it again over paying much more for subpar down at the (resort) beaches. I only wish I can come here every other day during my Yucatán trip; alas I must go on. But for you prospective readers and visitors, I strongly urge you try this place out...

I have passed by La Sirenita a couple times, but did not get the chance to try it until recently. Every time I pass La Sirenita in the evening I always hear music and people singing. Seems fun!!! I finally decided to go to La Sirenita to pick up some take out for lunch.

I ordered: Shrimp tacos, shrimp ceviche (large), shrimp a la diabla, and arroz al la tumbada..EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! I recommend everything I got! I cannot wait to come back to La Sirenita again!

The price here is super affordable compared to other seafood places in Playa. Not only is the price good here, but the quality of the food is also very good!

La Sirenita is a hidden gem! If you are in Playa make sure to come here to try their wonderful food and support...
