a jewel of a building in downtown San Luis. this hotel is a very unique place put together by wealthy investors with a passion for collecting and displaying historic furniture. this creates an uncommon place to stay, and I think, very well worth a visit.
The staff is amazingly friendly and make an effort to please. from the reception desk team, the bellmen , cleaning staff and food service, we found everyone friendly and willing to help. breakfast food is good.
the interior decor is a hodgepodge of styles that could clash horribly, but somehow it works to create a special atmosphere. there are some museum-quality pieces of furniture and others much less so. At the end, the building itself is the main star in the show
we stayed at the Miguel suite for three nights, which I think is the best room in the house. be aware that every room is different and some are quite small and others have no outside windows, so your experience may be very different depending on which room you stay in.
our 4 day visit was wonderful and I would recommend it highly. the staff even was able to provide a charging station for my electric car. however there are a few things you would want to be aware of. 1 the noise at night. as the hotel is next to places that host weddings and events, there was a lot of noise some nights. even double glazed windows were not able to isolate the room. bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise at night. 2 on sunday mornings, the main hall is filled with piano music, which sounds great, except that the piano is an antique and horribly out of tune. which for me was a bit of a torture.
all in all we are glad that San Luis can offer such a...
Read moreThe hotel is amazing, we stayed at Felipe room, 2 adults + 2 kids (7 yr/3yr). Very centric and walking distance to historic downtown. ||Our first night: There was no hot water! I called reception, they send someone. Not sure why the person had to go all the way to the shower just to prove that there was no hot water, as if they don’t believe me? Anyways, it turns out that the heater was not ON (shouldn’t they check that first?). ||We wanted to have breakfast but the restaurant was reserved for a private event! We were denied service there. I went to reception just to confirm this as it was a bit surprising. They arrange us a separate table outside the restaurant, which was OK. ||On our third day, we went out in the morning and returned around 2PM, our room was still not cleaned up. We went out again and came back at 7:30PM, it was still not cleaned up! I told the reception and they were shocked as well. We had to go out for an hour and it was cleaned up finally. ||I really wish the hotel manager reads this and try to find out what happened with the above issues. The hotel is very nice but I don’t think the staff or service is at the level where it needs to be. I’ve stayed at 2 other Quinta Real and this one really need...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel wth friends for 2 nights, February 12 and 13, 2018 and I was astonished at the beautiful antiques and furnishings of this hotel. The rooms were charming and felt luxurious with the excellent service and beautiful furniture. The hotel staff were extremely courteous and accommodating to the variety of needs from the people in our group.||During our visit one of my friends became ill and spent most of the time in her room. The staff were remarkable in the care and attention they paid to her. We relied exclusively on room service for her and the meals were wonderful and the service extraordinary. Cesar was the one who took charge of the dining room and room service and he was wonderful.|His care and attention made our stay very enjoyable despite the illness of our friend.||We visited several cathedrals and museums while in San Luis Potosí. If you have a chance to visit the Museo de la Mascara; the Museum of Masks, pay attention to the beautiful ceilings in this converted house. Be sure to look up in each of the rooms. These are the most beautiful ceilings you are likely...
