Hotel “La Estación” — Hotel in San Miguel de Allende

The hotel is located right next to the main bus station. We arrived carrying backpacks, so it was convenient to just walk a few meters outside the station to get to the hotel - no need to deal with a taxi...||||The hotel is located at about 20 minute walking distance from the heart of San Miguel.||||It was built recently, so all the amenities were in excellent condition. Everything was very clean. The room we got was kind of small, but had everything we needed to take a break from daily walking trip to town. Beds were comfortable, providing us with a good quality sleep.||||Because we came to visit San Miguel during low tourist season, the rates were around 50% off during week days, and 30% during the weekend. This hotel is a good lower cost alternative to the mostly overpriced accommodations in San Miguel. Fairly new, good sized rooms, only double beds which were small for two people but you can book a room with two beds. Noise does travel through the halls so people coming in late at night can wake you up. And only a basic push button lock on the handle of the door to the room was a bit unnerving, didn't seem very secure. It is about a 20 minute walk into the heart of the centre of town along a rather unattractive and noisy main road, but you can always take a quick taxi. I used the hotel's laundry service which was good and very inexpensive and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. So overall a good basic choice...

We were finishing up a house sit and thought the arriving owners would enjoy their privacy, so we checked into Hotel la Estacion, just steps from the Central Bus Station. In the morning, we had a leisurely break\fast in the hotel cafe (also reasonably priced and surprisingly good food) and grabbed our luggage and walked downhill to the buses. This is a very basic hotel, but it has everything needed for an overnight stay and it is impeccably clean. There is parking in the back if you need it.||||Your expectations for this hotel should be a clean, comfortable stay with friendly staff and a nice little cafe on site.
