Cuartel 1914 — Hotel in Zacatecas

I came to Zacatecas to work for 6 days, I’m so glad I stayed at Cuartel 1914 for the duration. The hotel is located just a block away from the Catedral Basílica de Zacatecas. There are many great restaurants just secs away, La Toska, Waffles & Coffee, En Tauro Del Norte, Bona Dona, and many more. Circle K and Axxo are secs away when you need water or soda.

I booked the room with the balcony facing the main street, it was a great experience, the room was big and clean, the bed was very comfy, and the amenity was very nice.

The Wi-Fi connection in the room was good, I was able to work from the room, and I do enjoy working in their indoor patio area where their router was located, Video calls for work were very smooth, with no issues at all.

The staff was extremely helpful, I had questions about Covid tests, exchange currency, and ride to the airport at 5:30 AM and they were able to help me to get them done. They even helped me book a tour to La Quemada and Conos De Santa Mónica.

The keyless door lock at the front of the door was smart (I don’t have to worry about losing the keys), and we were communicating through WhatsApp which is convenient.

This hotel is very cute when you walk out you are wrapped by the very beautiful historic district with many restaurants, cafes and so many people. The rooms as advertised. Historic with a touch of class in every room. The wood work on the doors are as if original. It has a motel 6 feel but, better, way better. Safe, no transients and beautifully kept clean. An interesting surprise, standing in between an Airbnb and a normal hotel. Cuartel 1914, has one of the best locations to stay. Also their self-service entrance and accommodation with traditional colonial mystique adds to an amazing experience.
